Jedlicka, in charge of McHenry county building inspections,* points out several ways irt which contractors can avoid delays and possible work stoppages. First when calling for an inspection, give the, permit number. The number identifies the particular job quickly and easily. So many jobs are in progress that . the individual job can not be indentified by a description. Also, give the number to anyone in the office who answers the phone. TTiis will help speed up the request and saves time in the office. Ek> riot make duplicate calls for the same inspection. This confusion occurs when one individual in an organization doesn't know whait someone else has done. One person in each contractor's officer should be delegated to make these requests. Finally, when a call has been made, check the inspection card on the premises^ before calling again. Th^~ inspectors often check the work at hours when workmen are not present. They always mark the card. Just because no one has seen an inspector on a joD. does not mean he has not been there. Attention to these details can save each individual contractor's time.
