A October 19-20 Miss Kay Petska, Mr. Leo Smith Wei One of the prettiest of* early fall weddings was solemnized at St. Peter's church on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 9:30 a.m. when Miss Kay Petska, daughter of Alfred Petska of Hplcombe, Wis. and Mr. Leo Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith, of Spring Grove, were united in marriage by Rev. John - Daleiden. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, radiant in a gown of chantilly lace and net over bridal satin. The gown featiired an illusion neckline and fitted bodice of. scalloped lace, with long sleeves of chantilly lace. The full skirt had ruffles of lace and layers of net formed a train. Her headpiece of chantilly lace, covered with rhinestones, 1 held in place a fingertip veil of silk French illusion. Her flowers were formed in a shower bouquet of white carnations and pom-poms and she carried a pink crystal rosary, a gift of the groom. She also carried out the tradition of wearing something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Her attendants were Miss Sheila Petska of HolCombe, Wis., as maid of honor. Miss Bernadette Dring of Richmond and Mrs. Elaine Oxtoby of Spring Grove were bridesmaids. Little Miss Elaine Petska was" flower girl Harvey Petska was best man and •groomsmen were Raymond Petska and Robert Oxtoby. Fred Sladek of Solon and Lloyd tSpitzbart served as ushers. The maid of honor and bridesmaids were dressed similarly in gowns of net over satin. The full skirts had ruffles of cha'htilly lace and bolero jackets were of lace. Colors were nymph green, peacock blue and shrimp. The headpieces matched the gowns and their flowers \Vere carnations and pom-poms. They , all wore double strand pearls, gifts of the bride. The flower girl's gown was of white bridal satin. Her headpiece was a wreath of flowers held together with net and she carried a basket. of rose petals. Her jewelry was a gold locket, a gift of the bride. Miss Diane May was soloist and sang "Panis Angelicus" at th6 Offertory and "On This Day O Beautiful Mother" at the end of the Mass, while the bride placed a bouquet of flowers at the feet of the Blessed Virgin. Mrs. Smith wore a dress of blue lace with navy accessories. Her corsage was pink and white carnations. A wedding breakfast was held at Ray and Pat's in Richmond. Dinner was served to the bridal party and the immediate family in Antioch. The reception was at St. Peter's auditorium at 5 p.m. for approximately 250 guests. Streamers of pink, blue, green and white and wedding bells decorated the hall. A beautiful wedding cake graced the center BRIDAL COUPLE M.C.H.S. News Patti MUler The crowd at the football game last Friday night was one of the best a McHenry team has ever had to back them. I'm sure the team really appreciated this and hope there will, be just as many at the Zion-Benton game Saturday night. Hope to see you there. THE ROBERT SWITZEKS Bethany Lutheran church, Crystal Lake, was the scene of a pretty nuptial rite on Sept. 15 which united Miss Carol Arvidson of McCullom Lake and Robert Switzer of Pistakee Lake. Confirmation Class Meets Each Tuesday The confirmation class of St. Paul's Episcopal church meets with Father Fish every Tuesday afternoon after school in the parish hall of the Community Methodist church in McHenry. Special appointments may be made for adults if necessary, but at present they will meet with the children on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. Church services are held every Sunday morning at 11 a.m. in the band room of the Junior high school. L. • . «Au II7mmha« 1 SCOUT COOK-OUT The Adult Girl Scout association will hold a cook-out Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 o'clock at the V.F.W. grounds. Members are asked to bring their own silverware, plates and cups. They were invited to attend the "band day"1 which is under the direction of Mr. Paynter, the Northwestern director. Another requirement is that you must maintain a "C" average in these subjects. Each year the F.B.L.A. attends the district convention held at DeKalb and then the state conevery year from accidents. DIES WHILE ON VISIT A heart attack was blamed for the death of Joseph F. Jisa, 63, of North Riverside, last Sunday. He died while visiting at the Falcon hunting club near Johnsburg. He had been a member for many years. The body was taken to the Peter M.
