They very much enjoyed a trip around the Temple Grounds at Salt Lake City and day's sight-seeing in San Francisco before driving on to La- Habra, Calif., near Los Angeles, to stay two weeks with Mrs. Benoche's brother and family, Albert Gerali. The girls were thrilled with a day's trip to Disney Land and also to Knott's Berry Farm, which is a replica of a pioneer village. A day was spent in Tia Juana, Mexico, too. They visited with Mr. Benoche's uncle, Leo Benoche, in Inglewood, before leaving California. Christ the King Church New! George J. Freund will move from his present location on Elm street upon completion of the structure in two or tlVree weeks. The place vacated by Mr. Freund is expected to be torn down, as announcemnt has been made that the Jewel Tea company plans to build a store in that location in the months ahead. This is in line - with the company's plan to expand service to include all cities within a 100-mile radius of Chicago. McHenry URGE FAVORABLE VOTE ON AID FOR TUBERCULOSIS CARE A little more than a month from today, on November 6, each voter uppn making application will be handed a ballot asking whether the county board of supervisors may levy a tax to provide for the care and treatment of persons afflicted with tuberculosis. It is important that each interested voter realize that, there are approximately 400,000 persons infected with tuberculosis here in the United States and having an active condition. Over 1,200,000 persons need medical care or treatment for this disease. Only by constant vigilance and care can these persons having this diseasfe be discovered and helped. Since the county of McHenry is' no longer able to bear this expense out of the county general fund, the county board is taking this opportunity to give you all of the information at their disposal, • so that you may be properly informed in order to vqte on this important issue. For the protection of yourself and the community,; it is most important that you vote "FOR" this proposition. A companion ballot is the one which requires a "YES" or "NO" vote. This ballot provides authority for a levy for this TB care to be made in excess of the Ylh'z cent limit for county general purposes. There is, of course, a restriction imposed by the general revenue laws of the state of Illinois which now limits the county of McHenry to a 6 59/l0Qth cents rate at the present time. It has been estimated that the levy for TB care would not exceed 3 cents, that being enough to pay for the current costs of this care. It therefore becomes quite apparent that even though! it Is necessary to give authority to the county board to levy in excess of \2Vi cents, the combined rate With the TB tax would only be about 9% cents. This ballot must be voted "YES" to give the board supervisors the power to levy the TB tax when passed, even though the 12% cent rate, would not be exceeded.
