Lilymoor Garden Club Mrs. LaVerne Schueler had as her guest, the Lilymoor Garden club on Monday, Nov. 27. The club is Having extra meetings to make their Christmas flowers. The artificial flower construction is being taught by Mrs. Edna Crawley, a member" of the club. Members invited other interested ladies to join them on this project. Mrs. Helen Haines, Mrs. Mary Hollenback, Mrs. Edna Crawley, Mrs. Marion Leske, Mrs. LaVerne Schueler, Mrs. Ann Ericksmar and Mrs. Leona Fantus are enjoying making Christmas poinsettlas and other flowers. Mrs. Isabelle Karmel, Ms. Laura Belford, Misses Susie Crawley and Marlene Karmel joined the group for marble ice cr^am, chocolate cake, an assortment of filled cookies and coffee. & Property Transaction Involved the Steve Harvey homestead on Route 120. The new owners are Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wagner. The former residents were Paul Harvey who has moved to 554 Washington street Woodstock, and his sister Miss Mary Harvey, Edgebrook kindergarten teacher, who is now occupying an apartment at the Town club in McHenry. New Residents We are happy to have as new residents in Lilymoor, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Wagner and family, formerly of 306 Freund ave. in McHenry. The Wagners are now living in the former Harvey home. Mr. and Mrs. Wagner have six children, Edward, 11, Ronald, 10, David, 8, Joyce, 7, Michael, 5, and Joe, Jr., 9 months. With the Sick Mrs. Eleanor Young suffered a broken arm when she fell on the sidewalk as she .was walking to work from her home in McHenry. She is convalescing at the home of her daughter and •on-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wagner, in Lilymoor. Friends of little Miss Patty Mann will be glad to learn that she. has been released from St. Therese hospital in Waukegan. Patty is the 6-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Mann of Sunnyside, formerly of Lilymoor. Births and Birthdays Welcome to Cynthia Ellen Mathews, 5 ibs. 11 ounces, born to Mr. and Mrs. Troy Mathews in the Woodstock Memorial hospital at 2 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. Mathews also underwent an opertion from which she is recovering very satisfactorily. I Up on the hill, Billy Fantus 1 enjoyed his fourth birthday by having nis friends in for hot chocolate, ?andy cups and chocolate cake served on a gay carnival tablecloth, with matching napkins saying "Happy Birthday." Billy's guests included Bobby Erick, Donna and Valleria Schiavone, Kevin and Lynn Cary, Jimmy, Judy and Stevie Fantus, Cynthia and Diana Lee Belford and Marlene Karmel. After a session of ?ames, each guest was given a favor of color books. It was a happy occasion for Miss Barbara Barryman when she celebrated her tenth birthday at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24. The party started with games and ended with the group dividing into, three teams for a treasure hunt. The girls gathered in the dining room, where pink and white streamers hung from the chandelier. Three cakes were cut and served, with beverages and toasted almonds and peppermint ice cream. Enjoying Barbara's birthday with her were Kathy Lieback, Jacqueline Crouch, Sandra Berkley, Merda Snich, Jandt, Connie and Barbara Sergermarker, Judy Hammil, Nancy Koehler, Susan Markey, Heather Fike, Adrinne Ozog, Mary Elizabeth and Beckey Berryman. Christmas :ame early for little Lynn Cary when she celebrated her fifth birthday at her home in Lilymoor. The children played in the living room, where snowflakes glistened overhead. The children sat around Lynn as she opened her gifts. Then each child received a gift by reaching into 'Santa's Sack' for prizes. Favors of books w°re given to each guest before they were seated at the birthday table, where streamers of red and ^reen were hung. Singing "Happy Birthday" to Lynn were Peggy, Timmy, Jimmie and Kevin C.ry, Cynthia and Diana Belford, Judy Fantus, Manene Karmel, Donna and Valleria Schiavone ar.d Richie Zahn. A chiffon cake decorated with white frosting and gum drops held her five candles. Mothers of the guests were served refreshments of cake, coffee and ice cream by Mrs. Moise Cary. The Cubs went into the field and picked milkweed pods. These were broken in half, painted and d'pped into glitter. Sequins were used to decorate them to look like fish or birds. Den 6 met on Wednesday after school at Mrs. William Zahr.'s home, where the Cubs worked on Christmas tree decorations. Aluminum foil and red and green paper was used to make stars and bells. Personals The ninth \nnuai football banquet sponsored by the Kiwanis club was attended by several local residents, Among those present at the McHenry high school was Mrs. Louie Schueler and her daughter, Carol, a junior cheerleader, and Mr. and Mrs. William Comes. Mr. and Mrs. William Hollenback and daughter, Roberta, enjoyed Thanksgiving day in Chicago as guests of Herbert Toussaint and family. E. M. B e l f o r d a t t e n d e d a workshop on Christian education in the Methodist church in Evanston on Sunday, Nov. 25. The meeting was held at Convenam Methodist ?hurch and included ministers and laymen from all the churches in the northern district. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Berryman of Urbandale farms were happy to have their daughter, Rebbeca, home for the Thanksgiving weekend. Miss Berryman is a sophomore majoring in home economics at Northern Illinois State college at DeKalb. Visiting and shopping in Chi' cagp lately were Ms. Gary Leske Mrs. Albert Ferrara, Mrs. Fred Fradiriardo, Mrs. Herman Crawley, Mrs. "Ann Ericksman, Misses Charlene and Susie Crawley, Mrs. Leona Fantus and Mr. $nd Mrs. Donald Leske. A toy demonstration was attended by Mrs. Donald Leske, Mrs. Moise Cary, Mrs. Fred Karmel, Mrs. George Jones and Mrs. Ann Ericksman on Monday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Lena Parratore. Coffee and cake were served. Charles Huckstaedt and E. M. Belford were among local men attending the Methodist men's supper on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Community Methodist church in McHenry. Another toy demonstratibn will be held at Cljub Lilymoor Dec. 3, at 1:30 p.rii. Those wishing to attend must contact either Mrs. Sam Root, -513»J-1, Mrs. Rose Zimmer, 25§4, or Mrs. Fran Budil 204-W as soon, as possible. Refreshments will be served. Mr. and Mrs. George Jones,, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fradinardo, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Karmel attended the cinema party sponsored by the Women's auxiliary of the McHenry hospital. Proceeds from the benefit will be used to purchase medical and surgical equipment for the McHenry hospital, which is a nonprofit institution. Volunteer workers are still needed.
