COMPANY (Public Service Company Division) hereby gives notice °to the public that a revision of Rate 3 and of Rider 25, as contained in Schedule E-3, has been ifj^cd with the Illinois Commerce Commission on November 27, 1956. . The proposed revision of Rate 3 offers to residential customers uncontrolled electric • water heating service on a 24-hour-a-day basis as an alternative to the present limited'hour water heating service which will continue to be available It is also proposed that availa bility of Rider 25, relating to water tea ting service in DeKalb and the flnmediately adjacent area, be extended for one year," with minor modifications. Stephenson officiating. Mrs. Winfleld Pierce An illness extending over the past eight years ended in the death of Mrs. Winfield Pierce at the Villa Rest home at 9:15 Saturday morning, Dec. 8. She has been confined to the home since May. Mrs. Pierce, a sister-in-law oi Mrs. A. H. Mosher. of McHenry, was born Lulu Chiverton. in Dixon, 111., where she . always made her home. She w&S married in 1910 to Mr. Pierce, who survives, as does a sister, Mrs. Bess Larkin, of Rockford. The deceaseef was a member of the Evangelical church of Dixon. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Jone$ funeral home in Dixon at 2:30 o'clock. Joseph Matterer Joseph Matterer of McCullom Lake passed away at 7 a.m. Monday of this week in McHenry hospital. He had celebrated his seventy- eighth birthday on May 24. He ifook a turn for the worse on Sunday afternoon and was rushed to the hospital by his son, Oliver, and a neighbor, Elmer Thorp. Mr. Matterer was born May 24, 1878, in Philadelphia, Pa. He was an employee of the Western Electric company until his retirement in 1938. In 1902, he married Miss Mabel Kurth and the couple had one son. The Matterers owned property in McCullom Lake for twentythree years, and six years ago they made the lake their permanent home. Friends and neighbors called at the George Justen funeral home, McHenry, Tuesday afternoon and evening. Wednesday morning, the deceased was removed to the Collins Funeral home on North avenue in Chicago, where services will be held this afternoon at 2 p.m. Mr. Matterer will be laid to rest in the IrvingfPark cemetery. In addition to his widow and son, Mr. Matterer is survived by SEE two grandchildren, Gean and Sharon. John M. Schaefer An illness of three months ended Thursday, Dec. 6, in the death of John M; Schaefer at the Villa Rest home. He was 75 years old. The deceased was born Aug. 12, 1881, and had farmed his entire lifetime in the Johnsburg community- Mr. Schaefer never married. He is survived by two brothers, and a sister, Mathias M. Schaefer, of Johnsburg, Peter M. Schaefer . of McHenry and Mrs. Josephine May of Spring Grove; also several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Holy Name society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Last rites were conducted at 9:30 o'clock at St John's church on Monday, with burial in the church cemetery.
