Wedding Last Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m., Donald Madden of Richmond and Pat Whiting of Genoa City were married at Grace church by Pastor Carlson. The bride wore «hn afternoon dress of winter white wool jersey and a white hat. She had a corsage of pale blue carnations. Mr., and Mrs. George Madden were the bride and groom's at- • tendants. Mrs. George Madden wore a navy blue suit and hat and had a corsage of pink carnations. The groom's mother, Mrs. Olga Madden, wore a corsage of white (^carnations on her brown dress. A wedding dinner was held for the couple at Mrs. Olga Madden's home Saturday evening. Guests were the Madden family, Mr. and Mrs. Olson and daughter of Mauston, Wis., aunt and unlce of the groom, Miss Margaret Johnson^ and Pastor and Mrs. Carlson and children of Richmond. The bride and groom will reside ^on one of the Northern Pump Bake Sale At their January meeting, the Mother's club voted to hold a bake sale at the basketball game Fri-> day evening, Jan. 25, at the high school. The proceeds of the bake sale will be used to help pay for the grand piano that is on the stage in the auditorium at the high school. All of us in the community should appreciate, the piano for it is something which we all enjoy. Baby Baptized Sunday morning, Julie Dawn Krumpen, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Krumpen, was baptized at the Community church. Here and There Tonight, the Community church wiil hold its monthly fellowship supper. The program for the evening is a religious film, "The Hidden Heart." Last week, the Lutheran Wdman's guild saw "Song of Sumatra," a colored film, at its meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Buchert celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary. Mrs. Ben Winn has been the substitute teacher for the fourth grade at the Richmond grade school during Mrs. Morganson's illness. The afternoon unit of the Richmond Home Bureau met Friday at the home of Mrs. John McNish. Mrs. H. Carlson and son, Paul, visited' Carol Overend and her two girls, Cristy and Wendy, in Highland Park last week. He is on sabbatical leave from the university, where he teaches - to study in England and Switzerland. He and his family will be leaving for Europe very soon. He will study on a Gugenheim fellowship which has as its purpose assisting teachers in advanced study. Gus Holmgren returned to Illinois Research hospital in Chicago after spending the holidays with his family in Richmond. Mrs. C. Klemstein continues to be a patient at Billings Memorial hospital in Chicago. Supper guests of Mr. and Mrs, LEGALS Charles Schultz on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Williams and children. The Williams family will be leaving Solon Mills for the Carolinas, where Mr! Williams will be stationed. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schultz were Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln McGinnis and three children and Miss Mary Ann Baum, niece of Mrs. Schultz of Ivanhoe. Mariiyn West had a birthday party Saturday, Jan. 12. There was an assembly program at the high school last week, entitled "On the Beam." Dr. Glen Morris from the University of Wisconsin explained about radio beam guiding airplane pilots . He encouraged students to studymore physics and science in general. The first semester at liigh school ends tomorrow and this week there have been semester exams. The end of January or the first part of February, Mrs. Seeburg will-begin her adult class, which will probably be a clothing class. If you are interested in learning anything in the home economics line, contact Mrs. Seeburg at the high school and let her know that you are interested. Charles Meyer, who belongs to the R.O.T.C. at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, flew from Madison to Tennessee this past weekend as a part of his training.
