Garden Club The Lilymoor Garden club met at the home of Mrs. Donald Leske of Center and South avenue on Monday, Feb. 11. A continuation of the discussion on tips for spring planting was resumed. Mrs. Leske divided among the interested : ^nernbers an African, violet. Also Mrs. Leske has a book available on African violets which she would be glad to share with anyone having problems along this line. ( A After adjournment, the group enjoyed raspberry mousse with custard sauce and coffee and ice kolachens prepared by Mrs. Leske's mother, Mrs. Erisman. Modern Music Masters Pete Raines was initiated into Modern Music Masters, a high school national musical honor society, at its annual meeting last week. Pete was singled for this honor on the basis of music ability and scholarship. We are proud £}f Pete because we know it takes at least a 'B' average to be eligible. The meeting was presided over by president Sara Kay Douglas, and the program planned by another Lilymoor member, program chairman, Dave Fantus. Young Adults The Young Adults of the Community Methodist church will jneet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, VT'eb. 27, at the church for their regular monthly meeting. A dessert supper will precede a 'Talk on Family Life' which will be given by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stinespring, Jr. All young couples are welcome to join the Christian fellowship of this group. It is hoped that ail the Cubs and their families will come out for , .Uhe blue-gold banquet on Sunday, T"eb. 24, at the; Community Methodist church. Several local Cubs will be graduated to scouting. Each Cub den will prepare decorations for his table. The ceremony took place at St. Joseph church in Round Lake at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. Mr .and Mrs. Schiavone and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice rfaines also attended the reception for the young couple, held the same evening at the Legion home in McHenry. E. M. Belford spent Saturday in Peoria. Mr., and Mrs. Pete Rose, daughter, Karen, and son, Tommy, were guests of the Louis Schuelers on Friday evening. All attended the1 Lake Forrest-McHenry basketball game and the Roses for the first time were able to watch their niece, Carole Schueler, as a cheerleader for the Warriors. Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Cavitt have as their house guests, Mr. and Mrs. J. Lindley and sons, Lind and Michael, from Marktree, Ark. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Karmel were glad to see their school chums over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dennison and three sons, Alan, Mark and Marshall, were dinner guests at the Karmel home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Garrison Latimer were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Huff in Waukegan. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Crawley, Susan and Charlene, spent the weekend in Kankakee where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Armand Guimond. Mr. and Mrs. Guimond were celebrating their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary celebration when the Guimonds renewed their vows in the same church in which they were wed. Surprise Shower Mrs. Laura Belford was guest of honor at a surprise stork showcfr on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Fred Karmel. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Louis Schueler, Mrs. Fred Karmel and Mrs. Moyse Cary. The guest of honor was presented with many lovely gifts. Centering the table was a babe in a miniature bassinet. Napkins were appropriately! folded in the shape of a baby kimona. The silverware was clevefty secured with a pin and small felt diaper. A delicious buffet luheheon <vas geHed by the hostesses. The guests enjoyed tuna salad, frankfurters, relishes, potato salad 'heaven delight,' coffee and cupcakes adorned by a sho'Cver umbrella.
