Grade School Basketball Last \tfepk, the grade school basketball team played 3 games in an invitational tournament. The team placed second in the tournament. The first game Richmond won from a Beloit school 40- ^12; the second game Richmond ^also won, this time from Poplar Grove by a score of 42-16. The third game Richmond lost to Kingston 35-32, a close one, indeed! The games were played at Caprcn. After the last game, a party for the players and cheerleaders was the big event of the weekend at the Lindtylooms house. . Don Johnson is the co^ch for the Wgrade school team and puts in many an extra, after school hour with the boys. The boys from fifth grade through eighth grade go out for basketball practice in the high school gym for there is no available ^ place in the grade school. The school is completely unequipped for sports activities of any kind, as well as lacking in facilities for physical education. 0 In spite of, all these handicaps, the Richmond grade school team is good. If the team won the game from Hebron this Tuesday, then Richmond has a clear -title to the championship for the southern regional conference. ' If Richmond lost the gaihe Tuesday evening, then it is still tied for the championship of the southern regional conference. (I can't tell you whether they won or lost for the news has to be in the paper before Tuesday evening.)
