We are .glad to tell you that Gus Holmgren will be able to come home weekends from Illinois Research hospital in Chicago. He - ^j£$ been hospitalized for six months now and is looking forward to spending this time with his family., He will need transportation back to the hospital each Sunday in the late afternoon or early evening. He can fide in any ordinary car for he has been taught how to get in and out bf a car so there will be no special problems. The father of one of the Pteindealer carrier boys, Ed. wartzloff has kindly offered to bring Gus home each Friday night. If you can see your way clear to offering to take him back on Sunday, it will mean much to Gus and to his family. When he was home for three weeks at Christmas time, he progressed more rapidly in many ways than he did at the hospital. Those of you who were in service, remember the lift it gave you to look forward to coming home . Gus is in the hospital now for physical I therapy which strengthens his ! muscles. f Freddy at the drug store will !' keep a list of people who are available to drive Gus back to the hospital. Please call him at Richmond 2711. If enough people volunteer, there will be only one trip apiece involved. I know you well jnough to know that such will be the case. Gus has shown a kind of courage and faith that most? of us are seldom called on to show, and for this reason the doctors agree that his progress has been remarltble. Hospitalized Mrs. Susan Brunswick, teacher at Keystone school, was hospitalized awhile back, but is home again. We hope she is feeling better by this time. Cub Scout Pack Meeting The Legion hall was the scene of the first Cub Scout pack meeting of the newly formed Richmond Cub pack. All the boys received their Bobcat pins at the Bake Sale _ The Richmond Evening unit of Home Bureau will hold a bpke sale on Saturday, March 23, this Saturday, at the Hastings Memorial hall at 11 ajn. All kinds of goodies will be on sale for you to purchase. When you do your Saturday shopping, come in and take a whiff of the interesting food and you won't be able to resist it, we are sure. County .President DuWayne Sheldon of our high school was elected to 'the presidency of the McHenry County Teachers' association at their meeting in Woodstock Friday, March 8. Grade School Basketball In the tournament held last week at Crystal Lake, Richmond won the first game from Marengo 42-29; the second game Richmond lost to Crystal Lake 45-16; and the third game Richmond lost to Dundee 43-31. In the game with Dundee, the game was quite an exciting one and our team lost in the last few minutes of the game. Sympathy The sympathy of the community is extended to Mrs. Hage, first grade teacher in the Richmond grade school on the loss of her father-in-law last week. Mrs. Hage lives in Harvard. Our sympathy is likewise extended to Mrs. Horvath, fifth and sixth grade teacher, on the loss of her father. Mrs. Horvath lives in Williams Bay. Good Fellowship Group Ruby Wilson will be hostess to the good fellowship group in her home on Wednesday, March 27. Mrs. Victor Stanek will be cohostess. The group is doing some sewing and sewing supplies will come in handy. April IS On this date there will again be an opportunity to vote on the question of raising the educational fund tax rate from 72 cent to 93 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. The proposition was defeated in November by a slim vote of 81 to 69. By June 30 of the current year, we will probably have a deficit of $15,000.
