Stevens for supervisor, Leo Karls for town clerk, How&rd Vogel for assessor, Bertha Peet and Peter Adams for justices of the peace. School Election Saturday, a most important ^election will be held at the high ^school from 12 noon to 7 p.m. At this time, you will have to decide whether or not to raise the Educational fund tax rate from 72c to 93c per $100 assessed valuation. Perhaps you would be interested to know the rates of1, some of the other towns in McHenry county; Fox River Grove, $1.75; Union consolidated, $.91; Woodstock rural, $1.10; Johnsburg, $.91; Mc- £ Henry, $1.26; Marengo, $1.09; Carv Consolidated, $1.49; Harrison, $1.51; Crystal Lakej $1.44; Woodstock public, $1.15; and Richmond, $.72: You can see we are way below*the towns listed above and we feel sure that if you think about it, you will want to vote "yes" to give your children the benefit of a good education. We realize that there are some ^unfortunate circumstances where people have no children in school own property and pay school taxes. Perhaps some day our legislators will arrive at some other form of' tax to support schools, that is other than property tax. I hope so. Meanwhile, we hope you will remembfer, the kids and help them to be better educated. If the tax is voted down again, the number of teachers might be reduced. Each year the first grade gets a little larger so we can hardly afford to have fewer teachers. Make sure you get down to the high school to voter Remember, only eleven votes defeated , the issues last time. You can decide. Next fall will be too late to complain about inferior schools. This election has nothing to do with buildings, it is only educational funds.
