Indian Ridge has spent the winter in the city taking care of her father,, who is in failing health. She was at the lake looking after her property Sunday and told of her trip to Greece last year. She went by Cargo ship to the Mediterranian, stopping several days at each port of call; Barcelona, Marsailles, Genoa, Naples, Syria and Beirut. Here Mrs. McEachren left .the boat and made an 8-day side trip to the Holy Land; Damascus, Jerusulum and on to Cairo and Alexandria, where she* caught the boat again to cross the sea to Athens. She then left the tour to spend six months in Greece as guest of her cousin, a civil engineer, stationed there by an American firm. Of all the points of interest in Greece, the best loved sites for Mrs. McEachren, an avid ancient history student, are Olympia, where Greeks first praye^ at the Temple of Zeus (one of the Seven Wonders) .and where later the first Olympic games were held; Epidaurus, site of ancient circular open air theatre, having acoustics so perfect a Whisper can be heard in the last row. There is a current revival in Greece of famous early Greek drama enacted in these original settings. Lastly is Delphi, where Greeks from all over the empire came before battle or personal trouble for prophesy of high priestess, the Oracle of Delphi. Mrs. McEachren took 1800 color slides which she has organized into travelogs and which she, will be showing from time to time around the county. Giving substance to this ancient tale are the pieces of brass, ceramic, pottery, leather, weaving etc., which she has brought back. t Attention Boys 8-11 You may join the Cub Scouts during the summer, just as soon as you are 8 years old.
