Directors present were Maurice Haines, Vernon Erhardt and Donald Leske. Officers pres- . ent in addition to Mr. Rogers were • the first vice-president, Fred Fradinardo; second vice - president, Earel Belford; and treasurer, Val Fradinardo. Business for the evo- '. ning included plans for' summer road maintenance, treasurer's report, report on overdue memberships and plans for regular meeting on June 11. Mri Rogers served delicious pineapple upsidedown cake, with whipped cream topping, and coffee. Association members should remember that half-year memberships are due on July 1. and payable at the June" and July meetr ings. If you can remember to get your check of money to Val Fradinardo before then, it will save the time and expense of sending out statments. Jeffrey Lee Oversen, 5 pounds and 4 ounces, was born on April 18 to Henry and Audrey Oversen. Young Jeff is "the baby" to his brothers and sisters, Rita, Marilyn, Sharon and Henry III. On Sunday, May. 26, Jeffrey was christened at St. Mary's before family and friends. Afterward a dinner party was given in his honor at the Oversen home for the godparents, Mrs. Kathy Ossler and Henry Weibrod, both of Chicago, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry OversenpSr., who are the paternal grandparents of the new baby. Other guests present for the occasion included Mrs. Oversen's brother, Ralph Ossler, his, Wife and y his children, Kathy, MitfRJ^' Lin- ' da and Allen. Lilymoor Garden Club The Lilymoor Garden club held its regular meeting at the home of Mrs. Louis Schueler on Monday, June 3. Plans were made for an outing on Monday, June 10, at 10:30 a.m. The group plans to meet at the home of Mrs. Helen Haines and motor to Half Day with a picnic lunch. In Half Day the group will be. cp/jducted through Iris gardens . Several of the club members have some prize flowers which they plan' to enter in competition in flower shows later in the season. If any other ladies or men in the Lilymoor-Lakemoor area have flowers that they would care to enter in flower shows, information ^ on exhibits and shows in this region may be had by contacting any of the Garden club "members. It is not necessary to belong to a club to' enter most shows; however a few are restricted. Before breaking up for the afternoon, the group toured the gardens of several of the members. What was implied was that a well known doctor, author of a book on baby care, was medical counsel in the Belford home as he is in millions of hofries across the country. In the figurative sense that the Belfords consulted this book in deciding that their three-month-old baby actually had chicken , pox, the statement was made that the doctor was the resident .physician in the home. Arrived In Korea Mr", and Mrs. Charles Mullen, Sr. of Route 6, were glad to receive word that their son, Charles, Jr., arrived safely in Korea after leaving California on Thursday, April 25. Pvt. ' Steel Anniversary Happy anniversary to Mr. dnd Mrs. Donald Leske on their eleventh wedding anniversary. Marion and Donald met while Marion was visiting with her relatives in Chicago. Later, while Don was in service he was stationed near Baltimore, which gave them more .time to become Acquainted. Miss, Marion Erisman, from Baltimore, Md., became the bride of Mr, Donald Peter Leske of Chicago, on June 4, 1946, at the Lady of Victory church in Chicago. They spent their honeymoon in Eau Claire, Wis., after which they returned to this area to make their home. Six years ago they moved to their present home on the corner of South and Center street in Lilymoor. Marion and Don have had eleven happy years together but this year may prove to be one of the happiest of all. If you wonder why they are wearing such big smiles; you may ask them. Cub Scouts .The Cubs are still talking about the fine outing they enjoyed to wind-up the season. The Cubs spent the day at the Great Lakes Naval training station. All the dens of Troop 361 were able to attend despite the rainy day and many of the parents and den mothers drove cars to transport the boys to the station. The Cubs spent much time in the gunnery training building and had opportunity to see a crack navy drill team. Registration for next fall is complete and everyone is looking forward to another fine year in cubbing. Ed Mars has served a? cubmaster for the p&st year and will be in charge next year. Many thanks to the den .mothers arid parents who have given untiringly of their services so that the boys in. our community can enjoy the fine opportunities offered by Cub scouting. The summer people seem to be a little later this year, probably because of the inclement weather we have had on weekends. However, we hope that the summer residents are back with us soon.
