Wedding Bells Saturday, June 22, Miss Kay Seegert became the bride of Frank Heelein at a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph's church. ITie bride was dressed in a lovely gown of ice blue silk taffeta of ballerina length. Dolores Tonyan of Mc- Connell take was the matron of honor. She wore a pink ballerina lengtWyiress. The best man was Charles Heelein, brother of the groom. The br i d e s m a i d was Karen Sunderland, sister of the bride, who came from Beayer Dam. ^is. Two flower girls attended the bride. They were Peggy Heelein, daughter of trie t»est man, and Charlene Klapperich of McHenry. The little girls wore pale bluegreen dresses. At 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, .a wedding reception was held in the basement of St. Joseph's church. • The newly weds will, reside in Richmond. Congratulations and may God bless you. Sports Event: The Richmond game fields," just east of Richmond, was the scene of a sports event for disabled vets last Saturday. The vets were the guests of the "52 club." They came in collapsible wheel chairs to hunt, fish or just watch. It's interesting to see how well the gentlemen who have learned to live on wheels manipulate themselves. They certainly enjoyed their ou|ing. Some of them, especially those fishing, had a gay time indeed and caught several fish. The vets were treated to a dinner of barbequed chicken, cake and ice cream. There were several press photographers from Chicago papers taking pictures of the men and the hostesses who were there to help make the day more pleasant for the servicemen. Babies Baptized Little Charles Schultz, infafff son of Mr. and Mi-S- t^fTarles Schultz of Richmond, \jjas bap tized Sunday morning just after the 10 o'clock Mass at St. Joseph's church. His sponsors were Ji|rs. Walter Panek of Ivanhoe and Louis Panek of Libertyville. Little Charles was quite a good little boy while lie was being baptized. Rimberley Ann Groh, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Groh of Lotus Woods, was baptized Sunday morning at the second service, at Grace church. Later, many friends and relatives gathered at the Groh home to celebrate the occasion of Kim's baptism. The little lady slep{ through her party, indifferent to everything and everyone. Wedding Next Saturday Saturday, Eddie London of Solon Mills will be married in Peoria to Miss Sharon Pruitt of that city. She is the lovely young lady that. Eddie had as his guest at the alumni dinner this mt>nth. Church News Yesterday .at the Community church, a speech choir or choral reading group was formed to meet this summer. The same day, the Good Fellowship group and the Christian Service group met. Tonight, the rummage sale com* mittee will meet at the church to plan for the sale to be held July 20. Saturday, the Senior Youth Fellowship will meet for a splash party at Camp Alpine, where they will try out the swimming pool. Monday, July 8, Grace church will open its vacation church school for the season. Advance registrations are welcome to help in planning the program. A card to the churCft or a phone call to the church office will suffice to register. The Community church completed its vacation Bible school last Friday night with a closing gram in wftich the children rticipated. There were kindergarten songs, choral reading by the juniors and commandments by the primary group. Eighty-five Rouen Duncan injured his back last week. At this writing he is in the Presbyterian hospital .in Chicago where tests are being made to determine the extent of his injury. The family will appreciate your thoughts and' prayers. Here and There Mrs. Robert S. Cleland and two daughters of Dublin, Georgia are visiting Mrs. Cleland's parents,' Mr. arid Mrs. Arthur Anderson of Richmond. Mr. Cleland and son, Richard, will join them sometime in Jiily to spend' a few days before returning home to Georgia. Mr, and Mrs. Shubert and daughter are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pretzman. Mrs. Schubert is the former Phyllis Pretzman. She lives in Texas with her husband and little girt. Vacation time is here and many are the folk who are going or returning. The George Jones, "Mr. and Mrs. Dotty, are in Florida. TTiey have gone many years without a real vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Anton Haraldscn are in North Carolina visiting relatives of Mrs. Haraldsen. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lindholm spent a w^ek recently in Davenport, Iowa, and vicinity. They left their two daughters in Iowa for a while. i Mr.' and Mrs. Jim Miller and family are spending their vacation near Wayne, Nebr., where their relatives live. Jim is the school maintenance man. The DuWayne Sheidons recently spent a weekend at Cedarburg, near Port Washington, Wis., visiting friends. This past Sunday the Sheidons attended the ordination ^eryicg of Karel Lunae at Palmyra/Wis. The Rev. Mr. Lunde has been a friend of Mr. Sheldon for many years. He has accepted a call to a Lutheran church in Iola, Wis. Miss Edith Folken, Miss Marjorle Huber and Miss Miriam Yfeakel of Hammond, Ind., called on Miss Edna Speaker Friday. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Speaker and children, Tom, Ann, James and Beth, of Kenosha. Wis. called on their aunts, Edna and Myra Speaker. Last week, Rev. and Mrs. H. Carlson were guests at the fiftieth anniversary banquet of the Grace Lutheran ^church of Woodstock. The banquet was held at the Clarence Olson school. Pastor Carlson gave the invocation and led the 700 people in singing "A Mighty Fortress is Our God." Jack Seibert of Chicago spent Saturday with Mrs. Cora Stewart. DR. J. E. Sunday Camp Alpine will open its 1957 Reason with a week of camping for high school students.
