This yo'ung lady, though only fifteen, was able to teach sixteen little girls enough dancing in nine months to make them competent performers. Her mother, Mrs. Shirley Olsen encouraged and assisted her. Tuesday, June 18 at the American Legion home, a large audiehce of devoted parents, relatives, and friehds watched the little charmers go through their routines iike veterans of the stage. The tap numbers included "Anchors Aweigh," complete with nautical costumes, "Ballin' the Jack", air" "Tea for Two". The ballet nui.ibers were the "Cappelia Waltz", "Hot Toddy",, and "The Little Ballerina." The dancing girls included Bonnie Burg, Dawn Parenti, Janet Hansen, Charlotte Toerne'; Linda and'Donna -Schlofner, Judy Michels. Robert Houck, Lynne Schultz, Chrys Levesque, Nancy Burg, Carol Aalto, Danita Tomasello, Sandra Brennan, Barbara Lorcfi, and Marilyn Scarbrough. Miss Olsen treated the spectators to a difficult tap routine, "Gimmie a Little Kite" , Her bal: let number, "Night in Vienna was cancelled because of a foot injury. The show reached a terrific climax when those "cuties," Don Lorch, Jerry Burg, and Art Olsen danced the "Blue Danube Waltz!" Their crepe paper skirts and head bands presented a fetching sight. The fellows are open for invitations and will accept offers to perform at any and all public affairs! Seriously though, they deserve heaps of praise for their part in contributing to the success of the first recital given by the McCullom Lake School of Dance. The committee frpm the Ladies of the Lake who engineered and worked for the success of the recital consisted of Lois Parenti. Betty Murray, Ethel Schmidt, Marie Howe, Mary Kantorski, and your reporter. An interesting sidelight--Mrs. Ingeborg Olsen, grandmother of three of the dancers, was hospitalized, at the time. Last minute arrangements will be made for the summer festival. Family { Reunion Joy reigned supreme in the Henry Houck household when the entire family of eight was reunited last weekend. Y3C Houck, on leave from Norfolk Naval Base, arrived on Saturday. Mrs. Beverly Dewey and young son, Thomas Michael, flew in from the West coast last week, to spend ten days with the family. Second son Bill, had just enough time with his sailor brother to get checked out in all things nautical. He left for Great Lakes on Sunday, for two weeks of boot training! Cause For Celebration Mr. and Mrs. Len Jensen donned their party clothes and joined Betty and George Baumbeck and Mr. and Mrs. William Baumbeck of Chicago who were weekend visitors, and made "the most" of Saturday night. The Jensens were wed twentyfive "silver lined" years, June 21. petty and George chalked up nineteen years on Tuesday, June 25, So they had a reason to celebrate.
