We can be inordinately proud of our officers ..•and the civic zeal demonstrated by the residents. The budget for the current^ fiscal year was read and approved. Our roads came in for a bit of discussion. It was the concensus "fcf the council to patch and * maintain them without a large monetary outlay, pending the progress of the new road program. Some of the patching has been done in the renlly bad spots. V' Ray Aalto was recommended by building and zoning, commissioner, John .Boyle, for the position • of, building inspector. He was unanimously approved by the board and duly appointed by J. R. Levesque, village president. During the course of discussion, the police commission reported that speeding within the village limits has been on the increase. Due warning 'was printed in the last issue of the paper. VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED! Don Parenti was appointed as a liaison officer between the village and Dr. Fike, veterinarian. Little Fellows Our "Little Leaguers," the Hawks have a dandy place to practice and should promote victories. However, their manager, Bill Hyatt, is just as concerned with teaching them good sportsmanship! Thanks to the efforts of Bill Hyatt, Bill Brennan, Odell Galvin and "Bud" Cable, who erected the new" backstop at McDonald's field, the youngsters have no excuse for not practicing.
