He was a native of this community, where he \yas born Oct. 25, 1909, and lived here until 1942. • He' was an electrical contractor by trade. Survivors include the widow, the former Ruth Michels of McHenry; five daughters, Carla, Elizabeth, Annette, Janis and Ruth, all at home; a brother, Leo, of McHenry; and a sister, Mrs. Villa Cunningham of Glenview. Services were conducted Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock ^from the Catholic church in Albany, with burial in the Monroe, Wis., cemetery. Grant revealved $74.24 had been collected in Richmond against a quota of $55; and $46.08 was collected by Rev. July 15, at 10 a m. and closing Friday, July 19, at 3 p.m. The girls were divided into twelve units, each having a leader, co-leader and aides. Thirty children attended each day, ranging in age from 2xk to 10 years of age, cared for by Mrs. Carolyn Taylor and her aides in the camp nursery play school. The mothers of these children helped as leaders or coleaders. . Busy Days The girls spent their days with craft, nature hunts, flying kites and cooking out. Wednesday, the girls took a safari hike through the Northern IlHni Bbwmen's archery course, where they saw twenty-eight life size African animals, used by the bowmen for targets. Through day camping, the Sybaquay council provides camping opportunities for girls who otherwise would, never experience the fun of camping out. It has been a part of Girl Scouting since 1921. Mrs. Santo Ruggero, R. N., was in charge of first aid, assisted by Mrs. Harold Sanford. The Red Cross donated their station wagon to be used in an emergency. Monday the driver was Mrs. George Barbian; Tuesday, Mrs. Fred Wirtz; Wednesday, Mrs. Alex Wirfs; Thursday, Mrs. John Glosson; and Friday, Mrs. Verona Kent. The committee was not called to face an emergency, but with the resporisobility of the welfare and safety of 225 children, the Red Cross Vvas there to help in any event. The committee in charge of the camp included Mrs. Maurice Granger, McHenry, camp director; codirector, Mrs. Frank Gans, McHenry^ Mrs. N. Tabor, McCullom Lake. Mrs. N. Morrison, Lakemoor; Afrs. A. A tile running- from the septic tank to the road drain is the means being used. Springfield says these storm sewers are for water only--no, not wash water. But instead of spending a few measly dollars, pe6ple try to get by ruining our waterways. I hope that the city of McHenry will include us in their town within the next year and install sewers down our way.
