CARD OF THANKS We would like in this way to thank relatives and friends for flowers, cards and other remembrances at the time of our recent bereavement. The many acts of sympathy extended were greatly . appreciated. *17 Mr. and Mrs. Richard Marsh It was floor length, of nylon tulle and imported chantilly lace, featuring scallops down the front. Her veil fell from a seed pearl crown and she carried stephanotis and an orchid. Acting as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Robert Switzer, who chose a light blue taffeta dress, with net overskirt, ballerina length. She wore a matching picture hat and carried pink and white hiums and small roses. Miss Arvidson's three bridesmaids were Miss Jacqueline Conrad of Chicago, a cousin, Miss Laura Lee Flodstrom of Lakewood, Wis., a cousin, and Miss Karen Olson of Twin Lakes, Wis. a close friend. All were, attired similarly to the matron of honor. Donald Arvidson, broths of the bride, served the groom as best man and groomsmen were Robert Switzer, her brother-in-law, Fred Von Bruenchenhein of Round Lake and Edward Hensel of Morton Grove. Mrs. Arvidson chose a yellbw lace dress with brown and yellow accessories and wore an orchid corsage. Mrs. Marunde wore a beige "and white taffeta and net dress and a similar corsage. A dinner and reception for 200 guests were enjoyed at Mathews hall in Wonder Lake following the ceremony. Later, the young couple left on a week's trip through the West and upon their return will reside in Cooney Heights. The new Mrs. Marunde is a 1954 graduate of the McHenry high school and has been employed in the office of the ' Harnischfeger company in Crystal Lake. The bridegroom graduated from the local school the same year, served in the Army and is now employed by Engvalson Construction company. and David Kunstman, cousin of the bride, were ushers. Master Thomas Althoff, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. Mrs: Schaefer chose for the wedding a silk faille dress of Dior blue with matching accessories and a corsage of white roses. Mrs. Wohnrade selected a gray lace dress over pink taffeta, with gray accessories and a corsage of pink tea roses. A breakfast for the bridal party and immediate families was served at the Legion home immediately following the ceremony, where a reception was held after 5:30 for 175 guests. Miss Adele Schmitt circulated the guest book and Miss Elaine Turner and Miss Dorothy Hiller cut and served the wedding cake. The couple left on a wedding trip to Colorado and will be at home after Sept. 10 at 654 Greenwich, Valparaiso, Ind. % The bride is a 1954 graduate of the McHenry high school and attended Northern Illinois university. She has been -employed in the office of Althoffs Gas Service, Inc., for the past year. The bridegroom graduated in 1953 from the local high school and will be graduated from Valparaiso university's college of engineering in January, 1958. He is affiliated with Sigma Phi Ep^ silon, social fraternity. Last summer he was employed by Baxter and Woodman, civil and sanitary engineers, at Crystal Lake. Following the wedding rehearsal Thursday evening a buffet supper was given by Mr. and Mrs. James Althoff in honor of the bridal couple. and Saturday. Mrs. Carl Courier and daughter Mary Lou of Marengo, visited McHenry relatives Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allendorpji of Troy, N. Y. spent the past week as guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Holly. Mr. and Mrs. George B. Tonyan and daughter, Jean, left Saturday for their home in Tuscon, Ariz.; after spending the summer in McHenry. They were dressed similarly in ballerina length dresses of ice blue silk shantung with which they wore matching hats. Their flowers were colonial bouquets of pink tearoses. They wore rhinestone heart pendants and earrings to match, gifts of "the bride. Ron Seibo, a college friend of the groom from southern Illinois, acted as best man and groomsmen were Norman DeGroft of Spring Grove, friend of the groom and Michael Harrington of Chicago, unole of the bride. Mrs. O'Neil chose for her daughter's wedding a dress of blue lace over pink and wore white accessories. The groom's aunt, Mrs. Kattner, wore navy blue with white accessories. Both wore orchid corsages. A reception for more than 100 guests was held at the Jolly club in Chicago. MISS JEAN DICKMAN WED AT CHRIST THE KING ON SATURDAY Miss jean Dickman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dickman of Wonder Lake, was married at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, to Mr. George Hartmann, Jr., son of Mr, and Mrs. GeOrge Hartmann, Sr., of Lincolnwood, at Christ the King church in Wonder. Lake. Father Kruk officiated at the double ring ceremony. &rs. Charles Crane sang '1 Love You Truly,", "On This Day, O Beautiful Mother," and "Panis Angelicus," accompanied by James Van Kanegon at the organ. The altar was adorned with pastel gladioli' and white mums in baskets, and the gold altar vases contained pink glads,; white mumis and pink carnations. The bouquet for the Blessed Virgin was df white glads and lilies of the valley. The petite, blonde bride'looked lovely in. a white, satin, princess style gown, with a high neckline, Stand-up collar, long sleeves and long train. -There was a lace overlay which started' at the bodice, extended over the. shoulders and ended in a V, 10w on the buttoned back. A beaded crown held her fingertip veil, and she carried her missal which had a white orchid and stephanotis. Miss Pearl Mathews served as her maid of honor. She was gowned in a fitted, champagne colored brocaded dress, ballerina length, with matching accessories. Her bouquet was a 1 sheath of white carnations flecked with gold. The groom's brother, James Hartmann, served him as best man. The mother of the bride wore a beige chiffon, sheath with a small jacket, small hat and beige and brown accessories.
