Party Celebrates Boy Scout Week ' Last week, Troop 131, Boy Scouts, held a father and son birthday party at the Methodist church in McHenry to celebrate Scout week. The evening was spent playing games and singing. A meeting of the Boy Scout committee was also held in regard to the new charter. I Hugh Kirk was present to talk on his trip Europe. Celebrate Birthday At Television Program Mary Sue Scharf celebrated her fifth birthday anniversary when she accompanied friends to Lunch Time Little Theatre in Chicago recently. Huff-Moehling Nuptials Feb. 15 St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg. wa3 the scene of a lovely wedding ceremony last Saturday, Feb. 15. at 9:30 o'clock when Miss Betsy Huff exchanged inuptial vows with Mr. Roger Moehling. Rev. Fr. Blitsch officiated at the ceremony which united the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huff and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Moehling, all of Johnsburg. The pretty, dark-haired bride chose a chantilly lace gown, styled with sabrina neckline and ruffles of lace and tulle extending down the front of the skirt. Her cathedral length train was edged in pleated tulle ruffles. A double crown of sequins and seed pearls held in place a fingertip veil and she carried a cascade bouquet of orchids and hyacinths. Her attendants were all attired in blue taffeta dresses, stlyed with V necklines and hoop skirts. They had matching crowns and carried heart shaned boUouets of blue and white carnations. All wore nearl necklaces, gifts of the bride. Mrs. Shirley Li4ser acted as matron of honor for her sister and bridesmaids were two other sisters.,Eileen and Janice Huff, and a friend, Mrs. Mary Ann Kn6x. The little flower girl was Cathy Lieser, niece of the bride, who was attired in white and carried a small heartshaped bouquet. Roy Colonius served as best man and groomsmen were Glen Moehling, brother of the erroom, Edward Laurrsen, a friend, and Peter Lieser, her brother-in-law. Mrs. Huff chose a gray sheath dress, pink and white accessories and a corsage of pink and white carnations. Mrs. Moehling wore a blue lace dress, blue and white accessories and a pink and white carnation corsage. A breakfast was served at the Johnsburg Community club to members of the two families after the service. At 4 o'clock 400 guests gathered there for a reception. The newlyweds left later on a three-week trip to Arizona, after which they will reside at McCullom Lake. The bride is a 1955 graduate of McHenry high school and has been employed at the McHenry bank. The groom graduated from Arlington Heights high school, received his degree in civil and structural engineering in 1957 and will be employed by the city of Elgin Wed. Troop 89 of McHenry will represent the local group by participating in the program, with Mrs. Frank Gregory as chairman. All Scouts taking part are asked to meet at the field house at 12:30 sharp. The local neighborhood number is 7. Local members and all others attending with that, number will be seated on the south side' bleachers. All Scouts are urged to attend and bring tljeir parents also. Scout troops in the neighborhood are asked to contribute to the Juliette Lowe fund. It is suggested that each scout contribute a penny .for every year of her age. Sybaquay council now has 6,- 735 registered Girl Scouts anjJ 2,100 registered adult scouts., A pretty winter wedding occurred Friday-Evening, Feb. 14, in Waukegan when Miss Jennie Ann DeYoung, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry DeYoung of Pistakee Bay, hecame the bride of Mr. LeRoy York, son of Mr. and, Mrs. Robert W. York of Country Club drive, McHenry. The bride wa( attractive in a gray suit, with which she wore black accessories and an orchid corsage. Miss Hattie DeYoung, sister of the bride, acted as honor attendant, wearing a gray dress and orchid corsage. Calvin Fox of Waukegan, a close friend of the ^groom, served as best man. A dinner in- Waukegan followed the ceremony, with members of the bridal party and immediate families in attendance. The couple then left on a two-week trip to Florida, after which they, will reside in Waukegan. , The bride graduated from McHenry high school in 1957 and has been employed at the Ben Franklin store on Green street. The groom attended the local high school and is an employee of his father's service station in Waukegan. The- former Miss DeYoung was honored at a miscellaneous shower held at the Harry Dean home on Feb. 5, with twenty guests present to enjoy a social evening and buffet lunch.
