They are qualified to register anywhere in the County of McHenry. Those folks in the I4Jymoor area who have not yet registered may do so by contacting either Marge or Richard on or before March 10. Lakemoorite likewise. The Lakemoor Police will start ringing doorbells this Weekend to enforce the Dog ordinance, and will issue a ticket to EVERYONE who has a dog running loose. All dogs must be either tied up or in tin enclosure. A dog cannot be loose.in your own yard unless It is fenced in. Conditions are so bad as far as dogs are concerned that drastic action must ' be taken at once. No more warnings are to be given and all dog owners better heed this notice. Wally's Home! Yes sir, Wally Szarek returned home from the hospital last Saturday after his recent stroke and is improving very nicely. Reports are that he is to have only a few visitors as he is not yet strong enough to go out and dig ditches. It is the hope of the doctors that he will be able to Recover without the need for surgery and this news makes us very happy. As for you, Wal 'ole boy, the town is asleep without your wit and good humor. Get busy and get well real quick, huh? Eastwood Manor Social Parlf Happy Birthday On February 28, Friday, Jennie McDermott added another candle, and 1 might add begrudgingly, to her birthday cake. Jen has started counting backward and is up to 38 .already. At this rate I'm liable to pass her lip: Attends Luncheon Mrs. Marie Hyatt attended the luncheon .held last Wednesday at the McHenry Country Club which honored Jim Cooney, Mayor of Woodstock. Thirty-two women were in .attendance. Vernon Kays, County Treasurer, and now running for County Clerk, attended. Mrs. Florence Falsetti, former Lakemoorite, attended in the capacity of Mr. Cooneys campaign manager. James Cooney is now running for Comity Judge. Girl Scouts Troop 809 The Girl -Scout Court of Awards was held on Monday evening, March 3, in the Community Fire house. The girls who received their badges were: Cat and Dog badge, Katherine Brzezinski and Sharon O'Leary; Cook badge, Janice Wall; Needlecraft, -Patricia •Morrison; Homemaker and Housekeeper badge; Nancy Godina; My Country Badge, Carol Booster, Patricia Morrison, Sharon O'Leary, Donna Gorgo. Nancy Godina, Betty '•1>anko, and Virginia Roehrs. Completing her second class rank was Josephine Parratore. Both Patricia Morrison and Carol Booster have completed the required ten badges which allows them to enter their first class rank. We think the committee in charge of this party deserves a lot of credit as they, did a fine job of organizing the fun and the whole affair was run off smoothly. St. .Patrick's Day Party A special meeting was held last Friday night to hear a report on the money earned at the social and also to make plans for a St. Patrick's day party. Committees were appointed and just as soon as we have more details on thi^we will .give you a complete report. Accident We know everyone was shocked to hear of Harold Lottchea's accident a week ago' Monday night on Pistakee Road. As Harold was going bowling that evening about seven o'clock, he was blinded by a spotlight from an oncoming car and crashed nto one of the pillars at the entrance to Wood]awn Subdivision, demolishing his car. He was taken tp the McHenry hospital for first aid and then removed to Woodstock Memor- 11 hospital where he was confined for five flays. Harold suffered head, chest and leg injuries. We are glad to report, he is now convalescin at home. He was released from the hospital last Friday, but will have • to take it easy for a few weeks. New Baby Feb. 25 at 1:30 p.m. Lois Ryan gave birth to a baby girl at the Elgin hospital. Brenda Lee is the name that has been chosen for her. Sister, Debbie is at grandma's for the time being and is eagerly awaiting the day when mama and Brenda will be home." Needless to say, daddy Jerry is pretty impatient to get acquainted with his new daughter, too. -Welcome^ fclr. and Mrs. Matthew Mersch and their two small children are the latest folks to move into their new home. They will live at 122 Manor Lane. We hope they will be happy here. Our Sympathy Our deepest sympathy is extended to our Village President, Mr. Claude F. Mc-Dermott, on the passing of his brother- in-law, Michael J. Clearey. Mr. Cleary passed away in Duluth, Minn., on Feb. 19. Mr. and Mrs. McDermott left the village on that date in order to be in Duluth at the time of Ms burial on Feb. 22. Saturday, she entertained a group of the neighborhood girls at a party at her home. Mike Noonan turned twelve the third of March and his good friend, Tom McCormaCk was eleven on the same day.
