He is to enter Augustana hospital in Chicago this Sunday for an .operation. Tests will be taken •Monday to determine whether It ?s a slipped or a broken disc. Fashion Shew A u d r e y Z e t t e r b u r g , J e a n Peterson and Meryl Fletcher attended the style show Sunday afternoon at Grant Community high school. Besides the style show they were busy looking at all the different booths and getting all kinds of Upe samples. Progressive Dinner Saturday night was a busy time for eight couples from the Highlands. The event was a progressive dinner. First stop was Ray Novotny's where Janice Janquart and Dolly served cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Next st9p was the Jack Erbins'. Hie hostesses for this main dinner of spaghetti, .garlic iPead and Italian-salad were "'pot Erbirt, Marilyn Van Zevern and Wanda Dobfecki. Just delicious! The couples then, proceeded to Dick and Hazel |lorleys' house where a scrumptious dessert and coffee were qerved. The group then piled ip their cars for the/-final stog, --the Bales' house. There Lois Mason and Carla had Some after dinner shacks (oh, no!) wnbined with dancing, jokes and^ games. Mrs. Taylor is already planning on having her sister and family out to the Highlands for Easter dinner. We caught Mrs. Selisch chitchatting with Hazel Morley today. Mrs. Rheinhart's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Schnell, are visiting in the Highlands again. We see Mr. Schnell busy raking leave$ and working around the house. . Jeff and Kip Novotny enjoyed _ a 5-day visit with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Linde/i of]Chicago. Mrs. Pearl Smolinski has a busy day tomorrow. She and her sister, Mrs. Ruth Nilsen of Chicago are having a bridal shower for their niece, Judith Wright Friday evening* The shower will be held in. their father's house in Wilmette. About thirty people have been invited and we're sure they will enjoy the jello molds and cakes. Pearl has been busy making. , .Oops! Misprint! Sea Scout News At their last meeting the Sea Scouts decided to take a course at Great Lakes Naval training center. ^ This trip will last for three Hays. At. the base the boys will attend classes for training ship procedure. They will also have a tour of the base and will remain pn the base for the three days, May 23, 24 and 25. Because of their campout, the following scouts received their Polar Bear badge; Tim Marshall, Bud Messel, Craig Thoren, ROnnie Spankuch, Lee Johnson, Bob Beamer, and Milton Crosdale. Congratulations! While Lee Johnson is in Rockford April 12 for the ship steering committee meeting, he will also attend the Citizens Now conference. The Barnes of Ann Street, have painted their garage to match, their house and have had a gravel drive day put in. It looks very nice. Donna and Cheryl Tomao are ready for Easter, new bonnets and all. The Johnsburg fire and rescue squad were called to Claries on Broadway Saturday afternoon, when a brush fire got out of hand. Mrs. Clark and Jim Malek had it gut before they arrived. Arlene Fick suffered severe shock when her electric iron exploded while she was ironing.
