The complete program was Under the supervision of Scout fiHonald Mercure. Scouts Arnold and Wiliie Kloepfer, Bob Bartelt and Butch Lubke presented 'the colors for. a formal opening of the program. Scout 1 jj&ve Hecknian led the group in the pledge ef allegiance. /Lawrence Schuerr received his tenderfoot award in an impressive ceremony. Troop committee chairman, Harold Foss presented the second class awards to Butch Lubke, Bob Bartelt, and Jim Prasil. Scoutmaster Cliff Todd presented the first class advancement awards to Don Mercure, Arnold and Willie Klopfer. Lawrence Schuerr - also received a badge of office as he1 pledged to accept the responsibilities of troop scribe. Hugh Kirk, our neighbor- . hood commissioner, introduced to the scouts the summercamp program that the troop will attend this summer at Camp Lowden. There is to be a weekend camp-out coming up April 12. 13. Rex .Pyle with two buddies Alvin Olsen from Minneapolis, Minn, and Tom Bannaha from New Jersey spent a very hectic twelve hours Sunday, March 22 with relatives and friends here in Lakemoor. The three young gobs started the day at the Brzezinski home, from there they visited Rex's parents then back to the Brzezinskis' home for dinner, then to the Brossmans for supper in the company of three of our lovely local gals-- Miss Mary Ann Sossong, Miss Nancy Chadwick and Miss Rosanne Brezezinski. The three couples then finished the evening by attending the theatre with the return to Great Lakes escorted by Mrs. Anne Brzezinski. ' The young folks had a wonderful time and we know that they appreciate everything that was done for th£m on this day. Election'--April 8th Voting day for the primary election in McHenry. County. The polling place for those residing in McHenry township 9 in this area is: at the Fire-Community- House on Rt. 120 in Lakemoor. For those residing in Nunda township the polling place is located at the grocery store at the entrance to Fritzsche Estates on the black top road. Three men from this village qre candidates for precinct committeeman, Claude F. Mc- Dermott for re-election, John Bonder and Richard Hyatt. Recreation Area The. recreational area manageiheirit group will soon be calling on the villagers for their assistance with your time arid contribution. This project will be financed by contributions so let's try to be as liberal as possible and get this project started. Pinochle Club Met last Wednesday evening at the home of Dorothy Wrublewski. A very enjoyable time was had with the prizes being awarded to Anne Brzezinski, Mrs. Leon and Mrs. Clara Forbes. Rehearsing and learning their parts for the play keep the' girls pretty busy along with their work on the badges. On Wednesday April 9, the adult members will have a meeting at the American Le-r gion hall in McHenry from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Lakemoor adults are going to be hostess for Neighborhood 7 on that date,. If you want to help out call Mrs. Pat Morrison at McHenry 591-R-2. - Cub Scouts Den 7 & 8 At the pack meeting Friday 21, at the Methodist church in McHenry two scouts, Terry lyiorrison and ^nmy Arbrogast received the wolf badge, 1 gold arrow, and 2 silver arrows. All the boys are working on a project as well as their individual badges. The theme for the month of March was Alaska, to which much thought and work was given by the boys. They made maps, igloos, dogs and all objects that represent that part of the world. The theme for the month of April, will be keep America green. Any boys wanting to become cub scouts or any woman interested in becoming a den mother must call Ed Mars, Cub Scout master in McHenry. The den mothers from the Kishwaukee. district have received tickets for the appreciation dinner which will be held at Woodstock. Family Reunion On Sunday, March, 22, Mr. and Mrs. John Kraus visited Mllwgukee; Wis; vfttfi relatives from Chicago, Mt, prospect and Mundelein to help John's brother celebrate his fiftieth birthday.
