Our president, Vernon thredt donated considerable time this past- month investigating what action may be taken concerning the dogs at la$e in this area. At the sheriff's office he was informed that dogs are the responsibility of the township. Later the township agreed with this but pointed out that they have no facilities that the constables can use in handling dogs. This matter will be given further consideration by the supervisors. Iohn Bonder, new Republi- ' precinct committeeman for McHenry 9, in one of the largest primary votes cast in this precinct, was chosen as new Committeeman over the incumbent, Claude McD'ertttott, by a margin of ninety-six votes. Mr. Sickafoose's parents, Frank Sr., and Lou Ella Sickafoose, and his aunt,: Mrs. Lizzie Bates arrived on Easter Sunday and wall stay for two weeks. Some of v you may remember Frank, Jr.'s' parents from their visit- here two years ago but <this is the first trip here for Mrs. Bates. Coming were the two daughters and son and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kapsell and daughters, Sandra and Susie of Battle Creek, Mich., Mr. David Fantus had an accident during his physical education class while playing basketball. He sprained his ankle which th4 doctor bandaged arid he went on to his classes. Later complication set in and the d o c tor prescribed crutches which he would have to use for a month maybe. life time will soon be up but he is probably taking them on the bus with him today. David Fantus and Pete Haines are among those getting on the "band wagon" bus today headed for Peoria. They will participate in the state annual music contest held at Bradley university. They will stay overnight Thursday and Friday and return on Saturday. Our boys have done so well in these contests before so we wteh them the best of luck know it isn't pure luck, thou; it's long hard practice that gain those high ratings. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kronche had their granddaughter, Pamela Evans of Chicago visiting them over Easter. While there Pamela got her finger caught in the car door as it slammed shut. We hope she recovers from this as quickly as possible. that pedple with complaints turn them over to the club directly and specify what person and act they wish corrected. The Lilymoor Garden club held its monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Louie Schueler on. Monday, April 6 at one o'clock. The meeting time has been changed from two o'clock to one. The gxoup made plans to go to Chicago. It was decided to meet on Monday, April 21 at the home of Mrs. Maurice Haines' at twelve noon. . Mrs. Herbert *Fantus gave a report on ground coverings. Everyone was delighted with the invitation from Mrs. Haines to come over to see her tomatoes growing in her greenhouse because her plants were already bearing the green fruit, which by now may have turned red! Adjournment was made with the announcement that the next regular Yneetirig will be at the home of Mrs. Donald Leske on Center street on Monday, May 5 at one o'clock. at* Measles It seems that measles are beginning to pop up „with the green grass. In fact it was bad when Barbara Loveruse came down with them. The next door neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Lester Logue didn't really know Kbw bad it could be-- that is not until it came in fives to their house.
