Last fall's camporee w a s * held in McHenry where' better - than 300 boys got together. This camporee is expected to l$e even bigger. Our troop .was one of the sharpest outfits there last year and we are expecting an even better showing this spring. i Our next two troop meet- •' ings will be devoted for the preparations of the camporee. Our charter is up for renewal. Mr. Foss has spent much time and effort in recruiting new / adult leaders in the way of. assistant scoutmasters. New to o u r l i s t a r e M r . L u b k e , who has been a great help with o u r t r o o p o p e r a t i o n s f o r t h e • last few months, and Mr. Para, who has shown an interest in the out of doors. Continuing in the troop is Mr. Petlak. Coming up this summer Js the week at Camp Lowden. We hope to, see every boy in our troop get to attend summer camp, for it is the richest N experience a boy can have in his youth. Interested parents and their sons are invited to our troop meetings Wednesday nights at the Tower building. Cubs displayed bird ^ Houses they had made. They were hung it\ a real tree and made a very cute and suitable cente r p i e c e f o r t h e e n t i r e P a c k meeting. The boys also displayed the litterbags they had made earlier in the month. Richy Heckman received his Wolf badge and Bobby Tobiac and Eddie Atkins received the denner's double gold bars and the assistant denner's single gold bar, in that order. The boys w&re all well rep r e s e n t e d by f t i e i r p a r e n t s which is a very good sign that Cubbing has become^ an inte-* gral part of each boy's life. He has reported to me that any motorist caught exceeding the speed limit anywhere in the village will be fined heavily. The speed limits are posted so there is j»o excuse for traveling so fast.
