Born: in Northfield; has been a well know figure in the growth of Northbrook.

Employment: one of the original directors of the Northbrook bank, founder and owner of the Happ building at 1978 Shermer av., served as trustee on the Village Board, was active in Rotary and served on the school board; He was a parish trustee at St. Norbert's Catholic Church and was on the building committee of the new church.

Survived by: wife, Rose; four daughters, Miss Irene Happ, Mrs Rose Langhi of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Elsie Kennedy of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Vera Watters of Saginaw, Mich.; a son, Lester, who is stationed at Memphis, Tenn., in the Navy Air Corps; 8 grandchildren and 3 brothers, Matt, Edward, and George.
