X Page Ten THE McHENRY PLA1NDEALER TaitRlaf, December 23, Lakeland Park Engage Attorney For Association Viekey Bottari , 2262-J or 1524-J A community association, and by association it is meant a group of people gathered together (membership) for the common good_.of a community or organization, should in no way imply that the board members are the association. To be consistantly successful, it cannot be operated in a general hit or miss manner. It must be managed with the same carefully planned technique that is used so conscientiously by architects and builders. Absolutely nothing is~ieft~To chance. In fact, the larger the structure, the more care must be exercised to be sure that the foundation is sufficiently strong to give an adequate safety factor, that the stress and strain is evenly distributed, that each iron beam is made to the right length, breadth, thickness and strength, to fill a particular recognized need. Buildings are planned by architects who are skilled in their specialized work and then erected by builders who have had wide experience in their particular type of construction. The operation of an association such as ours is far different. Like our political life, it, is democratically open to all. and too few among the all have the experience to make sound practical plans based upon first hand knowledge. That is why we engaged the services of an attorney who has that firsthand knowledge and experience in formulating, by-laws applicable to associatj&hs such Dance OVCT It seems we were-just talkrig about starting plans for our annual Snow BaH dance, and here it is all over already; and soon a new group of girls will start working on next year's to make it as much of a success as the three previous ones have been. Two celebrations covered the happy event. On Wednesday, Dec. 10, "their two daughters enjoyed' a lovely luncheon in Winnetka; then on Sunday, Dec. 14, all the immediate family and relatives feasted on a scrumptious dinner complete with champagne and a tiered white and gold frosted wedding cake at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Edmond Dupon of Rogers Park. Many pictures were taken by the family as well as by a press photographer. Later in the day, movies and slides were shown by the Dupons of a recent tour of Europe which they had taken. Among the pictures shown were many scenes of Mr. Walker's boyhood hanfetown in England. Everyone went home in anticipation of celebrating the Walkers' diamond wedding anniversary.
