Committee Reports Adult activities reports the ice carnival went off well in spite of the bad weather. The sledding proved to be the most popular part, the ice skating hampered by the snow, the hockey game had to be postponed and the next Sunday found the adults and boys in a tied game 3 to 3. The welcoming committee which has been inactive due to bad weather will get out next week to welcome all the newcomers. The beach committee repots in a week or two they h™e to start graveling and sanding the beaches. It will take a lot of time and money along with help. It is j hoped it will make it easier for delivery men and friends ' to find you. } Mr. Dodge of Meadow Lane reports that boys with B.B. and pellet guns have done much damage to his truck and garage windows. He is very upset and with good reason. Snow Removal Snow removal: Floyd Johnson thanked Vem Thelen for a fine job and hoped everyone is satisfied. As does everything1, snow removal costs mone » and Floyd hopes all the members who have not paid their share will please do so. They are now planning to buy snow fences and erect them at the places where the snow drifts so badly. They will assign men from those blocks to erect the fences. Roads: the association is hoping the county will keep the road open on Broadway s-H the folks can get to the blacktop from there, the association can only plow to the end of the Highlands and the county should plow the county road, so Mr. Johnson will get in touch with the county commissioner to see what can be done. -"Personals" Mrs. Formella made two trips to Chicago this week, and brought her mother back with her for a few days. George VanZevern dented his new ^station wagon Wednesday e\ening when he hit a patch of ice, there was no one injured in the collision. Betty Hart and Lorraine Erdfnan are on the sick list and we wish them a speedy recovery and that they will be up and well soon. Scout News A . very busy program is for them Feb. .17. A dinner dance will be given by the Senior Girl Scouts rJn the Moosq hall in Woodstock, Feb. 21. There will be a semi-formal dance by the Kishwaukee group; June 3. Two boys will go on a 200 mile trip, the destination to be picked by the boys. These will be the boys with the highest merit points. b|May they will give a thinner f™ their mothers whiefi they will prepare and serve themselves. In March they will have a Stray Dogs A motion was passed and Mr. Zender will head the committee to pick up stray and running dogs, and deliver themj to the pound. He will keep a i description of all dogs picked up and you can call him if your pet is missing. The first drive on dogs will be held March 7. We hope this will end the trouble of running dogs. Blanche Haeflinger asks you to call her if there is any illness or deaths so she may send cards. A Son Is Born Mr. and Mrs. Callender happily received the little fellow at the Woodstock hospital on Jan. 24. Little Daniel greeted his parents weighing all of 5 lbs. 8 oz. Congratulations. Mount Hope Methodist Church The first service held Feb.! 1 was very nice with fifty-six persons attending. We hope to see more and more each Sunday. Rev. A lovely iunch was served after cards. - __ RBCHS Club Mothers' Club of Richmond Burton high school held their regular meeting at the high school on Monday night. Plans were made for a card party to be held sometime in April. After the meeting some moving pictures of trips to California. Arizona, Yellow Stone Park. Cypress Gardens and many more beautiful and interesting places were showp by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Justen. A delicious dessert lunch was served at the close of the evening. Postmasters Meet The McHenry County Postmasters had a dinner meeting it Solon Mills'.on Wednesday night with Postmaster Eva Freund as hostess. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings was enjoyed by twenty members and guests. During the meeting old and new postal procedures were discussed. Postmaster Ray McGee of, McHenry extended an invitation to the dedication of his new post office which will he in the near future. Guests- Mr. and Mrs. Earl Olson.
