SKATING CLUB TO HOST STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Sunday, April 26 ||Ai Local Jusi For Fun Roller Rink It was announced last week that the McHenry Roller Skating club "will be the host for all amateur roller skaters in Illinois Sunday, April 26, at the 1959 Illinois State Roller Skating Championships. The competition will be held tthe Just For Fun rink in Heiiry which will close for public session on that day. A sanction to conduct the championships will be awarded by the U.S. Amateur Roller Skating association, a member organization of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) which supervises all amateur athletics in the United States. Skaters who place 1st, 2nd <0 3rd in this championship are eligible to participate in the National Championships in July, whose winners then go ferto the Wcrld Champion- 1 Over two hundred skaters will participate, skating in their divisions of speed, figure and dance. The championships will Jast from early morning to W.e Sunday evening and are ^en to the public for a small admission charge! Illinois Education Association Athletic Director L. Mc- Cracken has announced that McHenry Community High school will have track and field this spring. It will be the first time since before World War II that the Warriors have fielded a track team. Track, probably the most natural of athletic contests, will be. a welcome activity into the overall athletic program at McHenry High. There will be a varsity and frosh-soph team. BOY SCOUTS WIDOW OF WONDER LAKE REALTOR DIES OF HEART ATTACK Pearl M. Mathews, 52, of Lake Shore Drive, Wonder Center, died at home Tuesday. Match 10, at 6:1.1 p.m. of a heart attack. She was born Feb. 21. 1907, the daughter of the Harry P. Mariniers of Chicago, ind moved to Wonder Lake in 1936. Her husband, Thomas P. Mathews, Sr.. a Wonder Lake realtor, preceded her in death in 1950. Surviving are two sons, Thomas P., and Richard J., and daughter Pearl J. and six grandchildren. Last December, they also had a roller skating party and had so much fun that they decided on another one. Next April will be the big day for the Scouts of this troop. It's a trip to O'Hare airport.
