They are, president Mr. Hauck of Pistakee Highlands; vice-president, Mr. Womac, and secretary, Mrs. Patterson, both of Sunnyside. It is hoped that this year they cart have ten teams, six for the younger boys and four for the older boys. The fee for every boy will be $4 which must be turned in with his application at the *ne*t general meeting either at the end of April or beginning of May. We \vi U lot you know in plenty of time so you don't miss this meeting. A call for help to dads who would like to act as managers on these teams. T; A. will hold its April installation of new officers which is a pleasing cerembny in itself. This year they are cognizant of the fact that men are parents too and have elected two dads, this should encourage the fathers to attend these meetings. First grade mothers will act as hostesses. Q Sanders of Chicago. - " Wedding Announcement Leaving the rank of bachelor behind him, Pete Cimachaiz took Dolores Thiel of Johnsburg as his bride at nuptial high Mass in St. John's church. Pete is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Babarsky of Mayfair drive where a small family reception was held for the young couple. They are now residing in their own apartment in Chicago. UNEMPLOYMENT •f BENEFITS Gov. William G. Stratton has signed into a law a measure approved earlier at his urging to extend unemployment benefit periods up to 39 weeks in times of heavy unemployment. At a press conference the governor said, "This is the most significant legislation passed this session. It demonstrates what the states can do in this field, tnd it nnkes the unique contribution of gearing the benefits of the program to the economic situation." SHOP IN McHENRY CAUTION SHRUB PURCHASERS Purchasers of trees, shrubs and other landscaping material were cautioned to watch out for nursery stock with driedout roots unprotected by shavings or moss. Stillman J. Stanard, director of agriculture, pointed out that such stock may have become devitalized or weakened by excessive heat or cold. His remarks were made to the public and to the more than 3,000 handlers of nursery stock in the state because of new regulations governing the storage and display of plants.., "This is the first spring season that new regulations go"erning plant care and storage have been in effect," Stanard said, "and we are taking the opportunity to advise both the buyer and the seller. Plants sold"at retail should bear a tag or certificate of inspection from the Illinois department of agriculture that the plants have passed examination." Copies of the 1959 Illinois official highway map are ready for free distribution. Issued jointly by the officers of Governor Stratton and Secretary of State Charles F. Carpentier, several hundred thousand of the maps are distributed annually to motorists throughout Illinois. The 1959 map for the first time shows the routes and interchanges on the Illinois Tollway System. Other information on the map relates to points of interest throughout Illinois, including the location of colleges and universities, state institutions, state parks, state conservation areas and state memorials.
