i * ursday, June 18, 1959 THE McHENRY PLAINDEALER Lakemoor EXPECT STATE LIBRARIAN TO VISIT LIBRARY By: Marion Sulok <the Lakemoor library board met at the library on Tuesday evening to discuss the future plans on how this library shall be operated. The state librarian will soon pay Lakemoor a visit and the aim of the board is to have at least 100 registered when she does arrive. Phis would be a good time for all the folks who do not have one register for a card. The f4T for this is 50 cents a year for adults and 25 cents for children under 14. At the present time the library has over 3.000 books to select from and more books are being donated each month. A large selection of books is now on the shelves at the Library located on the second floor of the fire-community- house on Rt. 120. This past month Joe Yeaeger dt^ated a selection of fine books and the folks connected with the library appreciate the 'houghtfulness of each donor. Any further information in regards to the library may be obtained from the librarian, -Miss Diane Zundel, Mrs. John Bbncfer,- Jamg£ Buehwalter, Mr. Sohuerr in Lilymoor, Ted Beahler, Mrs. Alberta Pressman or Mrs. Marion Sulok, are members of the board. b be held on Friday evening, June 19, to make decisions on the work to be done on the village roads. Congratulations Are extended to Richard Fuhler who graduated Sunday, June 4, from the Northern Illinois University with a bachelor of science degree. His folks are Mr. and Mrs. John Fuhler and his wife is the former Patricia Maher. Richard's folks, wife. Mrs. Ed Povidis had surgery done on Tuesday at _ the MeHenry hospital. Every good wish is extended for a speedy recovery, Helen. - age Nine Village Meeting The village meeting took place on Wednesday evening at the fire-community building. The board passed a resolution stating the fact that they didn't object to the rezoning of the property east of the village situated in Lake county because they didn't have tjj)e to study it. Claude Vaehet was appointed as the village treasurer for the coming year. All the other appointments made were temporary. A special board meeting will L. I. A. Firemen Out In the early hours of Wednesday morning the firemen oi' station 3 were called to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Massheimer. Weekend Guests Mr. and Mrs. George Daly entertained her brother and his three girls from Los Alampes, New Mexico and also her mother and sister from Norwood Park arifl Chicago over the weekend. They went swimming, boating .and golfing and stayed to watch their cousin. Bill Daly: play ball Sunday afternoon. Family Gathering The relatives of Judy Steadman gathered together to help her celebrate and congratulate her on her graduation from eighth .grade--from St. Mary's on June 4. Miss Judy received many blessings and is now looking forward to her next four years as a high school student. We all congratulate her and wish her lots of luck in her studies. Siek List Mrs. Phil Kibbe underwent surgery on June 2 at tne Resurrection hospital in tne city. From the reports Doris is very weak but will be at home soon. We all wish you a speedy re- Policeman's Ball On June 27,-the annual' policemen's ball will be held at the fire-community-building. Let's all get out and have a grand time together and make this a dance to be remembered. Tickets are on sale and you may obtain one from any one of the policemen or at any of the local business places. Don't forget this date and let's ha^e fun. Proceeds will be used ! to purchase equipment for the I young boys' baseball team. Re- I freshments will be served. Spring Grove SCHOOL GROUP ENJOYS PICNIC AT WILMOT PARK b.V&Irs. Charles Freund The children of St. Peter's school, the nuns and some of the mothers of the children enjoyed a picnic at Wisconsin State Park in Wilmot on Tuesday. There were many games and prizes given' the winners. After a picnic dinner at noon there was a ball game in the afternoon. The weather was perfect and all report having a wonderful time. Ushers Entertained Rev. John Daleiden entertained the ushers of St. Peter's in the. parish hall on Tuesday night. A delicious lunch was served and there was an evening of cards. Card flirty A meeting oy the committee for the cording card party in June was held one evening last week. It was decided that Iho luncheon and card party will ho held on Tuesday, June 30 in St. Peter's hall. Spring drove, A baked ham dinner will ho served and you may play your favorite card game in the afternoon. Many prizes will he offered.
