Robert Repke, who will soon apply for his license in ministry will be speaking during the evening service. There will be two services on Sunday during June. July and August, at 8:15 a.m. and. 11 a.m. Communion will be served in both services. A very successful daily vacation bible' school has been concluded. Sixty-seven certificates; of award were given at the conclusion last Friday night..- of which twenty-eight were gold seal of honor., Thanks are expressed to all \VHfi assisted and to those who donated refreshments and supplies. All this help was greatly appreciated. Golden Wedding Anniversary Open house will be held Sunday, June 28. Trom 2 to 5 p.m. to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schroeder of Shore Hills. The couple has been living at the Lake for twenty-one years, moving here from Pdngwood where they were residents the 25 years preceding. Mrs. Schroeder was born at Tryon's Corners, near Hebron; her maiden name was Wilna Trow. Mr. Schroeder was born in Oconomowoc, Wis. The Schroeders have two children and three grandchildren. Son. Kirk, who lives in Crystal Lake has two daughters, Judy and Jean. Daughter. Jessie, (Mrs. Stanley) Sevcik, and son. Billy Joe, live in Woodstock. The Schroeders most cordially invite their friends and neighbors in the community to the reception on the fifieth anniversary of their wedding day. They visited Disneyland at Anaheim, and went on to Las Vegas, Salt Lake Citcv, and Casper before making the return trip to , Chicago by plane. He is the son "of Mr. and Mrs. James Comstock of Wonder Woods and has a sister, Tina, who will sonn be three. Au Revoir But not good-bye to the George Gergits family who moved back to the city Monday; they plan to visit at the Lake often with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gergits still living here. They have bought a home in Evergreen Park to cut down on the commuting. George and Joan spent all their married life at Wonder Lake, coming here 9 Us years ago as newly-weds to operate Paul's Hardware, They have two children, George and Debbie. Showers A bridal shower honoring Nancy Gulczynski was given at the parish hall by Jo Ann Miller last week. Forty guests, neighbors and school friends, showered the bride-to-be with many beautiful personal gifts. Earlier in the month, Mrs. Henry Demski, Nancy's aunt, was hostess at a miscellaneous shower held in Westchester for relatives and friends. Nancy was married to Robert Cormier at Christ the King church Saturday, June* 13. Wonder Lake all her life, living here permanently since 1949, - Country Art Fair Axel Raedel, a * resident of Deep Spring Woods for 12 years, will be one of the artists demonstrating his technique at the workshop connected with the Country Art Fair to be held June 19, 20 and 21 at the McHenry junior highj7 school. Mr. Raedel, who is also exhibiting his work, will conduct his part of the workshop on Saturday, from 2 to 4. | Mrs. William Liedtke, a student and neighbor of Mr. Raedei's, will be exhibiting her work again this year. Mrs. Liedtke has been working for three years. Another student of Mr. Raedel's is Mrs. James Comstock who started instruction last October. A resident of Wonder Woods, Mrs. Comstock has been a summer resident of N Sick List The many friends of Mrs. Anne Weretka of Wotoded Shores wish her a speedy recovery at Mary Thompson hospital in Chicago where she is recuperating following surgery. Keep the cards coming to George Unwin of Wonder Center who will be hospitalized for some time to come; the address is Lake County Sanitorium, Room 202, Waukegan. „ Mrs. Joe Benes is back home again following optical surgery at Menonite hospital in Bloomington, 111. The operation, similar to the one Dorothy underwent two years ago, was very successful^ we are happy 1o report. Doughnut, Day Mrs: James Bell, who served as tag day captain for doughnut day at the Lake, appreciates the support of this fund raising effort of the Salvation Army. News Briefs Judy Kolar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kolar, and a student at Quincy college, was awarded a scholarship for her academic standing which pays half her tuition, and a band scholarship which also pays part of her tuition when she goes back to school as a sophomore in the fall. McHenry Moose Lodge invites all Moose members and their guests to the installation of the officers of the Women of the Moose, Saturday, the ,20th of June at 8 p.m. The men of Mecca No. 9 and fellows are asked to wear their regalia for a colorful ceremony. The occasion was the International Symposium of the American Chemical Society, Analytical division, held at Urbana recently, to which Dr. Don Wilkins was invited as one of the eight men conducting the discussion, "Modern Developments in Chemistry". He was further honored by an invitation from the head of the chemistry repartment at the university of Zurich Switzerland, to give a series of lectures , at Zurich for a month in the fall.
