X Page Sixteen the McBfciihY PLAINDEALER Thursday, June 18. 1959 lohnsburg GIRL SCOUTS AND BROWNIES ENJOY OUTINGS by Betty Hettermann Tuesday and Wednesday of last week were busy days for troops 135 and 408 of the Girl Scouts and troops 295 and 378 of the Brownies. Troop 408 chartered a bus on Tuesday and drove to Chicago accompanied by their leaders and some of the mothers assisted as chaperones. The j Museum of Science and Indus- j try, Chinatown and O'Hare 1 airport were taken in by the group. On Wednesday troop 135. . their leaders and some of the : mothers drove to Dundee I where they enjoyed several j hours touring the new, Santa's; village. The only bad feature of : the flay' were the few oloud ! bursts that came aiong periodically throughout the afternoon. What's a few wet feet; between scouts!! ! Also on Wednesday troops 295 and 378 combined forces i f o r their summer outing. T w c h t y - n i n e B r o w n i e s a n d ' eleven mothers enjoyed lunch - at a well known Wisconsin resort. The group wound up the ! afternoon with an ice cream 1 treat at the local drive-in. No. 777 showed up at the community club grounds to attend their annual weinie and marshmallow roast. Prior to eating the girls enjoyed an active hour playing ball, games and jumping rope. This outing was held on their regular meeting I night. Carnival Reminder Final plans are being discussed by the various committees for the forthcoming community club carnival. It is going to be another big. year as far as carnivals go so why not plan on attending anyone or all three of the three big days. The important dates to remember are June 26, 27 and 2S. Wedding Bells King • A beautiful wedding was performed at St. ~ John's 'church at 9:30 last. Saturday morning. The cerempny united Bonnie Weber of Fox Lake and Bil' Weber in Holy Matrimony. Bill is the son of Mr,, arid Mrs- Martin Weber. Many of their relatives and friends joined the" newly weds at the community club for dinner and reception later, in the day. Upon returning from their honeymoon. Bill and his new bride will take up residence in Fox Lake. Congratulations are extended to the new "Mr. and Mrs." and we all join in wishing them a very happy future. their wedding anniversary "on June 15. Rescue Squad Called Members of the Johnsburg rescue squad were ca-lled to Sunnyside Estates last Sunday morning to assist John Fiedler. Jr. The nine year old youth started with a nose bleed which his parents couldn't stop. The rescue squad took the boy to the McHenrv hospital for further treatment after which he was released. Around the Town Mr. and Mrs. George Hiller I and Mr. and Mrs. George Wagi ner-attended the recent graduation of Dick Hiller from i Michigan State. Following the I graduation exercises they were . guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Wegener for a small party to celebrate theoccasion. ( George And,-'Olivia made a trip recently to Iowa City to :pick up their daughter, Dorothy, who will spend the summer with her parents. The Paul Boyk family of Chicago, visited the Ed. Hettermann home over last weekend. Susan Pit/on and Carol Ann Stilling arc enjoying their vacation visiting at their respective homes. Both, girls will celebrate their birthdays while they are home. Ruth Ann had to have a few stitches taken in her foot following a slight bicycle accident. She will have a slight limp for a short while but that will disappear along with summer.
