All of their friends are invited to attend and wish the Loshhoughs well as they prepare to leave for another five year term of missionary work in Africa. Refreshments will be served after the services. The sailing date for the missionaries has been set for August 8. - Tlie annual Sunday School picnic will be held Saturday, •'ulv 25. at the state park at WUmot. Wis. The bus will leave the church at 11 a.m. for those not having transportation. . Nativity Lutheran Church News The sermon topic for Sunday, July 19, will be "Venture in Faith". The Kouples Klub will meet Sunday. July 19 at 7 p.m. The junior choir will travel to Cedar Lake Thursday afternoon. July 23, for a swimming outing. All choir members who like to go are to meet at the church at 1:30 p.m. Miss Janet Swarthout, a 1959 graduate of Monmouth College, whose is in California, was offered a contract to teach at Harrison school next year, in action of the board at their regular July meeting. The hiring of Miss Swarthout completes the faculty for the fall term. Faculty Complete For Fall Silver Wedding; Anniversary A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Bell Saturday, July 11, marking their twenty-fifth anniversary. A buffet supper \vas served to fifty close friends, old neighbors, and members of the immediate family. Silver and white were used to decorate the buffet table which' had a big silver bell hanging over it. A six tiered anniversary cake, baked by Ora Parker, was in the center. The couple receive*}, many lovely silver pieces and a silver dollar tree. Wonder Woods Picnic Final plans for the annual picnic put on for and by Wonder Woods residents were made at the board of directors meeting Monday night. Gal Kolar is general chairman for the affair and Mary and Bob Sandgren are in charge of games. The picnic will be held Saturday. July 25. Sinden The Sailor The breeze freshened sufficiently by 10:30 Sunday morning to sail on Wonder Lake, after a too calm early morning, and A1 Sinden's "Blue Jean" won the race in the Yacht Club competition. The finish was fairly close with "Fancy Pants" sailed by Bob Ploog, coming in second; Peter Georgeson's "Wet Pants" placing third; and the fourth and fifth boats only seconds behind. Mort Woodward was back in the race, sporting his new mast. Edible Weeds The Wonder Lake Garden Club met at the home of Mrs. Betty Fiala July 9. A letter of appreciation was received by the club for the gifts of flowers and cigars which were sent to the county home at Hartland. A "Get Well Soon" wish goes i to Mrs. Leo Hartog from the Garden Club members. Visitors at the Antioch flower show, "A Salute to Hawaii", were Mrs. Mary Burton. Mrs. Betty Fiala and Mrs. Wilbert Klebert. In lieu of a birthday party David Sellek will celebrate his tenth seeing the Cubs play on the sixteenth. By contrast, a foursome from here visited an Irish cargo ship Saturday at the Fair and were given a tour of inspection. They were Judy Weilock, Judy Kolar, Judy Troxell of Hebron, and Glenn (Judy, they call him) Benoy, who were walking around trying to get an interview at the radio station, but ended up on the unscheduled look:s^e at the shipping business. A buffet dinner for twelve guests was served at the James Comstocks following the christening of James David Cornstock on July 5 at Christ the King chyirch. James A.A.. left Monday for Memphis to attend Navy electronics school, following a 15 day leave spent at the Lake. He has been in the Navy for a year. A grand tour of Texas was made by the Walter Dean family during the month of June, visiting former Wonder Lakers. Pat and Duane Fossler in Houston, and the J. D. Rainwater family, brother of Mrs. John Carlson. They also visited relatives in Dallas and Waco. They made the trip by car coming back through Louisiana and say that it is good to be home again. Bobby Mealless celebrated his eighth birthday Monday with a party for twelve of his friends, guests coming from Richmond, and Lilymoor as well as Wonder Lake. Party favors of jewelry were given the little girls, while the boys received modeling clay. A cake, as good to eat as it was to look at. ice-cream and party mints made the table gay. Get well quick wishes to Lorraine Murphy whose leg is still in a cast. It was the eleventh trip to the hospiUJ in 3 years for some memoer of the family, which is seme sort of record. She fell chasing son, Dennis, over uneven ground, shattering the bone so that surgery was ncessary to clean out the fragments and put in a plate. Dennis is staying with his aunt in Indiana.
