To little Donna Dobecki we wish a happy third birthday. Donna celebrated on Aug. 23 with a few little friends and her family. People On The Go Marge and Bill Moreth at- ^nded the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Bill's brother in DesPlaines on Aug. 22. Jack Wilcox is happy to be on a week's vacation in this hot weather. Dropng in for a short visit were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Aielle and two sons from Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Troy from Venetian Village. Lorraine Hurckes' mother, Mrs. Rix from Chicago, spent last weekend visiting in the Highlands. They also .went on a shopping spree to Waukegan. Mrs. Moreth visited with ^Irs. Lindemann in St. Therese hospital last Thursday afternoon. We hope it won't be long before Mrs. Lindemann will be back home. Betty and Milt Sandeling entertained a few friends last Saturday evening for a cookout. On hand enjoying the Sandelins' hospitality were Betty and Tom Warczak, George and Darleen Neeson and Bob and Marilyn VanZevern. Darleen Smolinski enjoyed a week and a half stay in Chicago with her Aunt Sophia. . Dick and Lee Conway entertained a group of friends on Saturday, Aug. 22. Using the Morley basement for the gettogether were the Shivelys, Janquarts, Lammerts, Erbins, Masons, Slugas, and the Barrons. Little Bill Jackson spent a few days in Chicago last week visiting with his grandmother Ward. v Marge and Bill Moreth attended a picnic in Chicago last Saturday, where Bur used to work and he was real happy to get to see a few of the familar faces. Mrs. Schuble and daughter, Maureen ahd Elaine, spent four days vi&iting in Chicago last week. Wanda awKT'MDon Dobecki took a day-out of thejp^every day life and spent it downtown in the loop. They enjoyed a delicious meal and saw a stage play. George and Marilyn VanZevern and children, Georgie, Julie Ann and Nancy, spent four days last week visiting at the Wisconsin Dells. Jack Erbin's mother, sister and brother-in-law are visiting with the Erbins for a short while. They travelled from Michigan to be with Dot and Jack and family. The Bales and Dobeckis spent last Wednesday at Bangs lake enjoying a picnic along with all the kiddies of. course. Hazel Morley, alopg with Dickie, Mike and Gary, spent last Friday visiting with a friend. Sue Barrett, in Round Lake Beach. The girls packed a picnic lunch and they enjoyed a day at the beach. News of Your Friends and Neighbors Last Tuesday, Cletus Mayer, Kay Sielisch and Kay's motherin- law, Clara, worked on the election news bulletin. The Murrays, Masons. Lee Conway, Cletus and Barney Mayer and four 'teenagers covered most of the Highlands distributing the bulletins. Barb Schlick, Lola DuPree, Bob Beamer and John Ceynowa did a bang-up job. Janet Peloquin and Chris Thode offered their services but the Highlands had been covered. A great big thanks to all of the willing workers. Aug. 25, Frank Krumwiede was crushed by a falling piece of concrete while at work and suffered bad injuries. He is confined in St. Francis hospital in' Evanston. Kay Sielisch. the chairman of the fund drive for the Johnsburg Rescue Squad, reports the ticket sales are doing pretty good. If you do not have your tickets as yet you can still contact Kay Sielisch and get them. Women's Club News The women's club "sunshine girl" Marie Schlick was busy last week. She delivered four plants to recent shut-ins. Mrs. Sisk, Mrs. Groth, Mrs. Pedersen and Mrs. Sabielny. Fishing Rodeo Ends The fishing rodeo ended at midnight Aug. 31. Winners will be announced at the September association meeting. Some very nice fish were caught and brought big smiles from (\the fishermen. Teen News Happy birthday to Judy Jensen who will celebrate her seventeenth birthday on Sept. 7. Johnny Neal and Barb Schlick enjoyed swimming and dinner in Fontana last Saturday. Last Monday Delores Formella was happy to have her girl friend from Chicago for a visit, she stayed until Thursday. News In General The Ristows held -a family reunion last Sunday. Carol Remke, Bill Schlick's mother from Chicago, will give a huge party Saturday, Sept. 5. at the Schlick home for some of her friends. We are happy to report Terry Lee Phillips is doing very nicely. He is so happy to be home after a year in hospitals. Marcia Dowd returned from a two weeks vacation. She spent it with her sister in Boston, Mass., aind enjoyed the sea and seafood no end. Everyone was sorry to lose two wonderful neighbors, the Wesselinks. They have been transferred to Decatur. They sold their home here and left Monday for their new home. Last Saturday all their neigh- :ors gave a big party for them. We wish them luck and happiness in their new home. The Jensens are hoping to come home from Canada very soon. Mr. Jensen is still confined to the hospital there. It is nice for Mrs. Jensen since his folks live right close to where he is confined. We hope Mr. Jensen recovers rapidly. It has been some time since we have had to write about d o g s r u n n i n g . T h e y w e r e chained for a time, but now they are running again. The same dogs as before naturally. Please keep your dogs tied.. We send our heartfelt condolences to- Kay Reily, whose mother, Theresa Kerasiotis, passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 26, Kay's mother had been ill for quite, some time and Kay had spent many hours with her. Stork Leaves a Bundle Wrapped in Blue Mr. Stork left a tiny baby boy at the home of Dick and Mary Ann Sabielny Aug. 25, at 11:10 a.m. He weighed in at 5 bs.. 14 ozs.. and was named Daniel. On Saturday Dennis Banker will be thirteen and on Monday, Ldbor Day, which incidentally it was then too, Karen Rau and Dave Zieger will be eleven.
