The turn out was very large. The highlight of the evening was a humorous style I show depicting all the various styles women are prone to wear on every occasion. Audrey Misavice. Harriet Wilson and Joselyn Staudemaier were the models for the evening. Carla Bales was the moderair, Toots Spankuch supplied e music. Terry Pfingsten served as the wardrobe mistress. All the women enjoyed the show. During'intermissions they played games. Coffee and cake were served. St. John's P.T.A. Review , Last Tuesday evening Ihe St. John's P.T.A. hpid their meeting at the school. Tt wis very well attended and everyone ^stoned with event enthusiasm as Father Cletus Anger gave a very inspiring talk on parents as teachers in the home and in relationship with the teachers. The name of the P.T.A. has been changed to St. John's Home and School association. Although the Urn out for this meeting was well attended it is hoped the next mooting will find more of the Highlands in Attendance. Boy Scouts Scout leader Joe Murrnv and the men who work with the Scouts are very happy with the new enrollment. There is room for more boys, so if any of the boys in the Highlands, eleven years and over, are interested they may contact Joe Murray. Hyatt 7-3455. who will be glad talk it over with them. The Scouts are busy getting ro.iriy for the great event coming up. the big district Camporee. The annual campout event will be between 500 to pttpncline this great event. The boys are all looking forward to it with great anticipation. ready-mix Highlanders Attend Golden Anniversary The Carl Haefligers, Mrs. Herman, Floyd and Vi Johnson and daughter, Lynn, attended the golden anniversary reception of the Stanley Wroblewskis. A wedding Mass was celebrated at St. Hyacinth's in Chicago. After the Mass a reception was held at a hall on Central Park avenue. Mrs. Wroblewski was very beautifully gowned in a pale blue lace dress. Their four daughters and two sons were pres- | ent. Over 200 hundred guests helped them celebrate this wonderful occasion. The children presented the folks with a television set. Everyone had a wonderful dinner and the music was grand. We wish the Wroblewskis many more years of continued happiness and good health. She watched Dot's children while Dot visited with her sister in the Wesley Memorial hospital. Dot's sister recently underwent surgery. Bob and Lorraine Hurckes attended a sports car rally on Oct. 4. Knv Rielly spent a few days in Chicago last week. She stayed with Jack's folks and went on a shopping spree. Jack's sister, Zelda. came and took care of Terry while Mama was gone. Virginia Thoren is spending this week in Chicago staying and visiting with members of the family she hasn't seen in awhile. Herb and Jo Shively entertained friends from Chicago last Wednesday evening. Lois Leuth was happy to have her mother spend lasf Wednesday with her. She came in from Glenview. Carla Bales. Janice Janquart and Lois Leuth took last Thursday off from the daily routine of housework and went to Milwaukee on a shopping spree. They came home tired and broke. Dogs are on the run again throughout our subdivision. Just because the weather is cooler, property owners still don't want the mess and annoyance from other people's animals on their property. There was a time in our not too distant past when it was our pleasure to congratulate members on a fine attendance record. The association can do only what its members will allow, both by financial and physical support. A democracy such as we have in this country is based on a majority rule and though we all may not get our way in things we should be big enough to support things as they are. This association has never really been given a chance to show what a 100 per cent membership can do. As home owners why not give ourselves a chance to see what we, as neighbors "all in the same boat", so to speak, can do for ourselves and each other. The questionnaire you answered proved many things. The results were revealed at last week's meeting. There are still a lot of things to be discussed on this but if we could come to a solution on just one a month we would be an arganization to be admired. It can be done with everyone's cooperation. Thanks to Earl Fry and Chet Banker who have gone to the trouble of starting the ball rolling. We are going to have a#Halloween party for the children this year as in other years. The two amendments to the Association News T.nst week's meeting was attended bv a mere one-third of by-laws before the floor were read again. These two amendments are for absentee ballots and membership cards. The trustees are revising the bylaws and welcome any additional recommendations. Out' trustees are George Kropf, Kelly Noah and Harold Palmer. Your area representative will be around before the next meeting to collect your snowplow fee. Remember this a service performed for you and the money has to be in before the first snow fall.
