Oct. 31. All grown-ups, even though you don't have children in the parade, are invited to line the streets of the parade route to cheer the youngsters on and deposit your gifts of tricks and treats goodies in a common carrier that will be provided. The ways and means committee thought that this would be a good way to keep the youngsters from roaming house to house for the usual Hallow Eve treats as had been the practice in the past. The women of the committee will divide the candies, cookies, fruit, etc. into bags at the beach and a clown will distribute them to the expected turnout of at least seventy-five children. The parade at 3 o'clock will proceed north on Riverside, west on Miller, south on McHenry, east on Stillhill and back to the beach where prizes and surprises will be awarded. A bonfire and weenie roast will follow. , Adults Halloween Party Don't forget the date -- Saturday, Oct. 24 and the time -- 9 p.m. at the VFW hall. All members of the McHenry Shores club are welcome providing they can produce a receipt issued by the ways and means committee.
