Scoring is well spread. - While our high school will bo trying to squeeze in the Friday nrght croud our 1o\vn team winders how 1ho\ can get enough money to finish the season. -It would be a shame lo 'see this team fold up its tent "now when in first place, in the league. McHENRY EDGES PALATINE 57-56 IN LOOP GAME Victory Puts MCttS In Three Way Tie For Second £lace by Lambert Fremiti Friday the Warriors squeaked past Palatine, the unfortunate .newcomers in the North | Suburban Loop, by the score '.of 57-56. The victory kept Palj atine in last place, without -a {conference win and put Mc- S Henry in a three way tie for ) second with'a 4-2 loop record. ' The Warriors continued their "running tactics and seemed to 'baffle the Pirates with a zone press, as the Warriors came up with 13 interceptions. I An interesting occurrence of | the game that most spectators were unaware of was the batjtle of the sophomores. Seehau- I sen of Palatine, whose coach ! rated him as number one sophomore in the conference, was , guarded by McHenry's Paul j Morenz, another sophomore, in ! the second half. We now know i who has the best sophomore in i the conference as Seehausen I scored only one basket in the | second half. McHenry came up with the usual well balanced scoring as four men scored" in double fig- : ures„ Mike Creighton paced the ' cagers with 18 and John Stein- ! bach, finally returning to ac- [ tion, had 11. Jim Hester aTid I Paul Morenz each accounted for 10. Schneble was high for the Pirates with 20 points. Jim Hester for the Wariors showed some fine passing ability as he came up with seven assists. The ill-fated Pirates hit 35 per cent of their shots while the Warriors shot 42 per cent.
