Mr. Whiting came to McHenry to reside permanently in 1846. The" day also marked the sixtieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Whiting. TRAFFIC TOLL FIGURES Illinois has reduced its New J Year's traffic toll for the second consecutive year, th^ office of Gov. William G. Stratton announced. The final count at midnight Jan. 3 was 15 persons dead as compared with 17 last year. The governor's office also announced provisional figures showing that Illinois' traffic death toll in 1959 was, i35 less than in 1958. This ip the? fourth consecutive year that Illinois has reduced its traffic deaths, for a total of 815 lives saved since 1955. Fatalities in 1958 totalled 1886. In 1959 there were 1751 deaths.
