F. Keister of Midwest Business Consultants spoke to the C of C on the subject of Income Tax at Thursday's meeting. RR Crossing Protection In footing the bill for the cost of railroad grade crossing protection. 10 per cent of: the cost is paid by the township. 10 per. cent by the R. R., and 80 per'cent by the state crossing fund. $4,000 a year is appropriated by the legislature to assist isolated areas which could not otherwise afford the protection. These are the facts presented by Joseph Schmitt. Chief Engineer of the I. C. C., to the Kiwanis Club of McHenry Township at their meeting Monday night. The township road commissioner is the man to see. He will make a study of the traffic at that crossing. The ICC has jurisdiction over 12,000 crossings in the State. Feb. 8, the program will be presented by Bert Boerner, county probation officer. were Mrs. Jay Hansen, M. F. Thomas, and Dr. Raymond Watkins, who is vice-president of the district. Purpose of the meeting was ?o plan the discussion program of the April meeting of the Illinois Association of School Boards to be held at Hiawatha high school in Kikland this spring. Discussion cenleied around the rising cost of education and its impact on the people of Illinois. It was .estimated that the cost woulti increase 63 million dollars a year for the next 6 years in Illinois. It was .a pleasant surprise to see quite a few parents present, an encouragement to the buys and also to the adult committee which is trying so hard to convince the patents that without their cooperation a Scout troop cannot progress as it should. Welcome Wee One On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Irene Cary gave birth to a bouncing baby boy who weighed in at 9 lbs., 5 ozs. Earl John Cary doesn't 'have a care in ' the world. On the other hand his mother, Irene, had to undergo an operation hours after the baby was born and then 12 hours later she had to undergo another operation. She had to have fifteen pints oL blood. She is Sandra Sells of Wonder Lake. A new house planned for the near future is expected to allow many more girls to live in the house each year. JESKY The area was saddehed to learh of the passing of one of the older Lakemoor residents this past Sunday, Jan.. 31. A}* bert J. Jesky died at 3 a.m. Sunday morning after a lingering illness. He was a retired florist and formerly was associated with Elm Street Florist in McHenry. He recently made his home with his daughter, Bernice, in Lilymoor and had been in the area for about thirty years. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Frank J. Jesky of Country Club subdivision, I Henry Jeskj of Norwood Park, j Anna Marie Naughton of Lily- ! moor and Bernice Winkel of ; Lilymoor. He had six grand- ! children arid four great-grand - j children. Mrs Jesky preceded him in death* thirty years ago this, month.
