Quebec is the only walled city in North America. Lakamoor VANDALISM ACTS IN AREA CREATE MANY PROBLEMS . By Annette Schmlt cases of vand alism have been made public knowledge this past week. In the past, it was the home owners joy to know that good police protection would help to keep them safe from such actions. Since the policemen's pay has shrunk to $1 per year by order of the board of trustees, it is now impossible to receive the type of protection that the home owners need. One of the vandalism attempts was averted by the help of one of our wide awake citizens who contacted the proper ^authorities in time to prevent any damage. The other vandalism was committed in a vacant house on Sunset Drive, south of the channel, where youths had entered and considerable damage had been,,done. The youths were apprehended and action is being taken. Gallon Family Many of the villagers will not soon forget the tragic Galion home fire which occurred on the day of the big blizzard a few weeks ago. We have word the Galions are now residing in the home of Charles Lutz, a few doors away from their own home. They will remain there until such time as their own home is repaired and ready for use again. Notes on Speclad Meeting A special meeting of the village board was held last Feb. 29, at the Fire-Community- House, to consider the application of the owners of Fritzsche's Estates to the McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals, for a reclassification of a part of this property to a B-3 classification.
