North Bridge Marine Service .East Ann Street VOTE REPUBLICAN GOETSCHEL CORONER A Pictured . above is a scene from one of David .Boger's seventh grade English classes, at the McHenry Junior high. As part of their reading work students read plays. Mr. Boger said. "I have found that a Student will read a part in a play twice as well as he would read a good adventure story. He develops empathy with the character whom he is portraying as well as feeling and expression. And with feeling and expression comes th"e important thing, understanding. Even a poor reader'Will develop interest and follow the details of the story closely, if he is chosen from among the members of his class to operate the sound effects boa I'd. with its electric buzzers, bells and horn." In the picture the students are simulating a live broadcast of "Beany's Private Eye", the story of a young 'teenager, Beany Reynolds , (played by Barry Leibsohn), who works industriously as an amateur Sherlock Holmes together with his young companion, Wacky Bates (Jim Meeker). Their first suspect is Digby (Ricky Piatt). Although the boys are not sure just what they suspect him of, Beany's sister, Stephanie, (Lynn Reihansperger) suspects him 6f a breach of loyalty. Things really begin to pop when Pop Reynold's (Roy Moss) boss, Mr. Bolton (Paul Wilkinson), Stops in to pick up some papers and rubs an insoluble black finger print powder all over his face. The powder had been- placed on the gum drop jar "as a trap for Digby. Mother Reynolds (Linda Lieb-: erson) does her best to keep . the situation under control. The " whole affair culminates with: Beany bequeathing his private: eye kit, yes, even the badge,: to Wacky Bates for a young; girl, Sally Bolton, who says,, "Badges are-entirely too juve- ; nile for someone his age", Sherry Hughes did a superb-: ly ^dialectal presentation of Daisy, the negro maid. The program was piped to a number of classrooms. Also, it was tape recorded so that; the students could hear them-; selves the next day. ^ Tom Do we. 8G, who is in-' terested in radio and electron-: jes as a hobby, assisted' Mr.; Boger in the installation of> ! the set-up and acted as engin-r eer. ; Jnilllllllll!llllllllllllllllllllltllllllllllll!lllllll||||||||||||||illlUllllltll|||tlllllllllll|||||ltl|||||||||||||||||||||||& VILLA NURSING HOME ON PISTAKEE BAT NEAR McHENRY I Home for the Aged SENILE BED PATIENTS I Phone EVergreen 5-0461 , | Ixiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitiiiiiiiiiiitiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitiiiiiiiiiiiiitiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinti 5 gA* SPECIALS Ei r r.TRlC OftSSEROtf rubbish &op TRASH BURNER " . .. m cttotwv • ° ""a .mo" roo»W- uP boW«r ona » . t „ »low. . comrnt. isrVS* jri: ^ Bathroom I CABINET & $3.75 Keg* $2.29 SPEC.
