April 7, the^Spring Presbyterial meeting will be held at the First Presbyterian church of Rockford at 9:30 a.m. In the evening the final Pastor's Bible Study will meet at 8 p m. to discuss Luke 19:28 to 24:53. Friday, April 8, there will be a special choir practice at 8 p.m. On April 10 the Palm Sunday sermon will be "Who Is This Jesus?" "The Palms" will be sung by ..the choir. April 11, the sermon will be entitled "Passion Personalities - Peter"; Tuesday, "Passion Personalities - Judus"; Wednesday, 'Passion Personalities - Pilate"; Maunday Thursday, "Christ, the Cross, and You" will be the sermon. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be observed this evening. Special music will be presented at each of these services. Please join with us as we look at the central meeting of the Christian faith and our life. Accident' Edith Long's daughter, Kay Mitchell, spent hours in surgery having her hand operated on. Kay fell on a broken milk bottle and almost severed her hand. Her daughter., Cindy, is staying with grandma and grandpa here in Eastwood 'Manor and the Longs are happy to have her with them. We hope that Mrs. Mitchell is soon well. Block Rosary The Tom Birmingham home is the site of the Block Rosary for Tuesday, April 12 at 9 p.m. The address is 139 Mill Lane and all Catholics of the subdivision are invited to attend. Happy Birthday Sunday, April 10, Agnes Malcolm will blow out her birthday candles. On the eleventh Timmothy Cary will become six years old arid Gerald Brodin will turn seven. Ralph Priester will celebrate his birthday on April 12 and on the same day Debra Lynn Olson will'be two and Befsy Stephenson will become five. Welcome Xew Neighbors Fred and Doris (Pam to her friends) Woodbury and their son, Johny, moved into their new home at 143 Manor Lane on Feb. 28 of this year. We are happy to welcome them into the subdivision" and we hope that their stay isr a long and happy one. . •* Welcome Wee One Well, they finally did it. The Coughlins that is. Their fifth baby is a sweet little girl, who weighed in at 5 lbs., 13 ozs. She is 18 inches long and was born on March 30 at 2:30 p.m. in Woodstock. After four boys, Pat and John Coughlin can hardly believe it and we are so happy for them. They are still in a daze and at the time of this writing they don't even have a name for her. who Christening: Teresa Marie Farrell, along with her mother is a house guest of the Walt Garrelts, was baptized on Sunday, March 27, at St. Patrick's church in McHenry. Peggy Garrelts was the proxy godmother for Veronica Roberts,, who could not be present, and Walt Garrelts is the godfather. Bridge Club The bridge club met at Lee Landin's home. Nancy Lessard won lirst prize. Tammy Hawkins won travelling, and Doris Shaw won booby. Tripoli Club Pat Cisewski was hostess for the tripoli club. Doris Woodburry subberl for Patsy Coughlin. Sick List Here we go again on the childhood illnesses again. This time CKerly and Cathy Fenner have the chicken pox. The Bianchi children have terrible colds with high fevers. Nancy Shaw has the measles and was a pretty sick little gal Page Seventeen with 105 degree fever. Pat Borcovan has just gotten over a seige of pneumonia, which had her laid up for quite awhile. Vern Bauer couldn't have her Octettes meeting the other night because she had a terrible case of the flu. BQtch, Mike and David Kellogg had the measles. That's the way to do it all at one time. Linda Weigman has the measles and was very ill the first two days. We sure hope that everyone will be well soon. Anyway in time to enjoy the spring weather that is bound to come sometime. v This and That The Dethlefson family spent one and a half weeks in Milwaukee working ' the sport show. This is BoB's business and the whole family enjoyed, joining him in it." j Beth Hayes had a birthday party to celebrate her third birthday and all her little friends joined in the fun. Five year old Kathy Barry's party had Laura and Lynn Kellogg, Steve and Jeanne Lessard. Beth Hayes. Jeff and Da-, vid Harner, Brian Rohrer, Linda and Billy Freckman, Rosemary and Michael Rogers and cupcakes and ice cream and a lot of fun. David Kellogg's first birthday had grandma and grandpa Potter from Pistakee Bay for dinner. In the evening the Lawrence family enjoyed cake with David. Mike McIIale had a group of his playmates in for his third birthday. The Shaws had a delightful time playing pihochle with three other couples in Arlington Heights on Saturday. All the Weigmans (except poor Linda, who was down with the measles) attended the ice show in Chicago on Saturday: The Mathes' had a delightful bridge party with Tammy and Dick Hawkins, Carol and John Hayes, Pat and Lew Kellogg, Nancy and Ray Lessard and Hannah and Bill Harner. At midnight Helen served lasagne and everyone had a great time. . Sandy and John. Stephan of Fox River Grove joined. Lois and Jerry Ryan for pinochle and pizza on Saturday. Rosemary 'Newlon surprised Peggy Garrelts^ for her birthday with a luncheon. Winnie Hansen, Dolores Lawrence, Lois Krebs, Lois McCormack and Winnie's mother-in-law all had a hand in the surprise. Lynn Newlon enjoyed quite a gathering to celebrate her eighth birthddy. Mama Rose- ! mary had a gang for supper consisting of eight year olds favorites -- hamburgers. Coleen Doherty, Linda Worts, Barbara Miller, Mary Uttich, Barbara Cusack and Debbie Miller from school and from the subdivision came Theresa and Margie Birmingham, Gail McCormack.
