She will represent the local Legion auxiliary. The . young lady was selected by a vote of the faculty as best qualified in her class on the basis of honesty, leadership, good character, scholarship and cooperativeness. Cathy is a member oT the National Honor society and recently was named state president of the Future Business Leaders of America as well as serving as vice-president of the local chapter. Cathy is president of the Cherry Valley 4-H club. Eckland of 210 Country Club Drive, McHenry, will represent McHenry hospital at Grant hospital women's auxiliary seventh annual benefit luncheon and fashion on May. 9. at the Conrad Hilton hotel, Chicago. Forty Chicago area hospitals will send models to the show. RECOGNIZED FOR SERVICE George Johnson was honored for fifty years of service with the local Masonic lodge at a stated meeting held Tuesday night of this week. Mr. Johnson was presented with an honorary membership card and a Masonic pin in recognition of his long and devoted service to the lodge. The eleventh district, American -Legion. auxiliary, will sponsor a May day party for veterans at Elgin state Hospital on Monday, April 25. at 7 p.m. The help of all auxiliary members throughout the district, and their husbands, is needed to pack "treats" to be handed out to the veterans during the evening, following a party. Packing of the bags will begin at 6 p.m. A lunch will be served to those assisting, following the party, in the Elgin Legion home, according to Mrs. William Giermann of Elmhurst, eleventh district director.
