Others who attended from here were Mrs. Ellla Buss, Mrs. Helen Smith and Miss Rita Martin. Mrs. Mayfield is the second member ol Joyce Kilmer court to be named delegate to a national convention in the past .forty years, the other having been Mrs. Buss. Mrs. Mayfield was ,a state delegate ff&m the local organization and Mrs. Smith an alternate. At one of the luncheon meetings, tribute was paid to the late national regent, Mrs. Frances Maher The group toured Springfield, including the capitol building, and also visited with Dr. and Mrs. George Hess, former local residents. All state officers were reelected, including Miss Eleanor Quinn of Dt-Kplb, who was named state regent for another year. Mrs. Mayfield's son, Gerald, accompanied them to Springfield and spent the weekend with his aunt and yncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Mayfield.
