Mail Box Improvement Week The Post Office Department has designated the week of May 16 to 21 as '"Mail Box Improvement Week". The department wishes to encourage patrons to provide suitable dail receptacles, erected and daintained for easy and safe accessibility, presenting a neat appearance and affording the best protection to the mail. Hawaiian Eyefuls A bit of Island glamour was transplanted to Lakeland Park last Thursday night when the Lakeland Park Woman's club met for the last social of the season. Each member was presented at the door with a lei by Island beauties dressed in authentic muu-muus, the traditional costume of Hawaii. Installation of officers was held with President Helen Strandquist, first Vice-President Shirley Ozog and second Vice- President Jo. Rizzo retaining their posts for another year. Outgoing officers Secretary Dorothy Glorch passed her duties pn to Gayle Laursen and Treasurer Carol Altmann turned over the books to Lyda Radisch. Well Done In reading last week's issue of the paper you may have noticed that it sounded a bit different (better I thought) than it usually does. I (Vickey) who does most of the typing had to do a hurry up job of handing it over to Carole at the last minute due to the fact that I was called into Chicago as my dad was quite ill but am happy to report at this time he is coming along quite well.
