The boys left Friday evening and returned Siunday evening. A big vote of thanks to Joe Murray, Henry Sherman, Eugene Heir and ^Ihdy Brill who assisted Mr. Ffalmer with the boys. It was tSe first time in two years they enjoyed good weather on a trip. Cub Scouts The Cub Scouts and their fathers had a wonderful time test Sunday when they visited the Niki site in Half Day. The Cubs will also march again on Memorial Day starting at 11:30 a.m. from the barn. This is an Impressive sight as many of you may remember from last year. Gold -Star members attending were Signe Miller, Isa belle T h o m pso n, Theresa Hansen and Loretta Meyer County President Agnes Whappler and her secretary were also honored guests. Mrs. Whappler honored us with an interesting talk after the dinner*. Those attending Downey on May 5 were Ruth Mrachek, Dorothy Diedrich, Louise Berquist, Richard GolbeCk, Colonel Fox, Vic and Marie Howe. Furnishing then music was Ken Sawdd. They took along four gallons punch, four dozen cupcakes, candy, 130 pocket type books, forty^one magazines and twelve, decks of playing cards for the veterans' use. The unit voted to charter a bus for the juniors to take to the convention on May 28 at Champaign. The bus would not only take the junior delegates and alternates, but also the junior color guard, who will perform at the convention. The. color guard won tenth place in a field of sixteen at a meet at Evergreen Park on Sunday, May 15. If you haven't seen these girls perform youi have really missed something. The Derby, Which is a phase of the hospital's current fund raising drive, enables groups or individuals to purchase a diaper represen^g their choice of equipment.
