Proposal Presented To Village Board At the last meeting of the president and' trustees held on Monday, June 27, Herman Mass outlined his proposal to the council. Accompanying him was Gordon Carlson. The proposition is to move Gate 1 about 150 feet, rebuild Gate 2, and exchange a piece of property. Mr. Mass would like to acquire the property adjacent to his barns and trade a parcel (with trees on it) across the blacktop, which would make an excellent park. There were dissenters in the audience who are opposed to the trade. All legal work will be done without cost to the village. The hearing was tabled until the next meeting which'will be held on Monday, July 11. Seems as though he made his plans on the spur of the moment and flew home. His folks were shocked by his appearance when he entered wearing chin "shrubbery", sideburns, and a moustache! The beard has been shaved off, due no doubt to a little pressure from momma Florence! Lee plans to remain home for a few months and then he may go back. The jeep is still in Alaska.
