T h e r e are no words to ease the bereavement for Anne' but we hope that time will help in this matter. Warning to Parents.! Our children have wonderful facilities for summer fun, but they can also be mighty TREACHEROUS!! The lake has already exacted quite a toll of human lives. Please let there be no more accidents. Reports have been coming in of many mothers allowing their small children to swim and bathe in the lake unattended. Very recently. Mrs. Ed Doran was at the beach with her grandchildren, when a ybungster encased in a tire tube slipped out of his mooring and was in trouble. Terry Doran was swimming in the vicinity . and managed to get the little tyke to safety. But the .little one was in water way over his head, and couldn't swim. This . episode had. a happy ending, but think what the results MICTHT have been! Please don't send your little ones to the beach and expect conscientous .mothers to do your baby sitting for you! out on much of the summer fun as a result of her accident last Friday evening. After having enjoyed a wonderful meal with her parents, the Murray girls went to the home of a neighbor for play., Janet tripped .over a tent stake at the Granath residence and dislocated her right elbow. X-rays showed that the bone was chipped and she will be sporting a cast for several weeks. Tough luck. Contrary to Village Code Word comes from Chief of Police Larry Murray that the ordinance forbidding the burning of garbage within the village limits is being violated. Refuse must be kept in a COVERED container -- a minimum of 30 allons. Papers may be burned in a proper receptacle. Any violations of the code are subject to a fine. Deepest Sympathy To Mrs. Anne Werner of McHenry. whose beloved husband, Gflorge. passed away last week or a lingering illness. Services were' held on Monday of this week. Details appear elsewhere in the Plaindealer. Mr. and Mrs. Werner and their two children, Josephine (now Blaney) and George were summer residents here at the lake for many years. The eouple purchased their property on Spring Road in 1932 qgri began hifiJdincr a wimmpr cottage, which they occupied until 1950. That year they Welcome Visitors Big surprise recently was the unexpected visit of Mrs. Martha Struck and her grandd a u g h t e r , P a m . M a r t h a dropped in to visit with her long time chums and looks simply marvelous. She informed her friends that she is now residing in Huntington Park, Calif., where she is most happy with her present position. Chauffeur for the occasion Was Marth's sister-in-law. Irene, who brought the two of them out from the city. Other welcome visitors to the community were Pearl and Pete Nersted and the youngsters. Karen and Rickie. The family made their first appearance for the silver wedding narty which honored Mr. and Mrs. Harrild Vycital. They were called back to Chicago but came back to the lake for a weekend visit with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Reid. While here they took in the American Legion carnival, which was a big part i ntheir lives when they still resided at the lake. It is always so nice to see the "old timers" return!
