Wilkins, superintendent of public instruction, urges all drivers df automobiles, trucks and biases to be alert during this, period for these pupils. Wilkins says that many of these Children will be attending school for the first time. Others may have forgotten the rules of safety, especially the need to stop and took both ways before crossing streets and highways. He called attention to the fact that although approximately 500,000 pupils wfl'l he transported in school buses more than 1,500,- 000 will not be under the same close supervision when travelling to and from school. It is Wilkins' opinion that the number of accidents to, and dearths Of, school children can be materially reduced if parents would insist that their Children fully observe the rules of traffic safety. The date for voting in a library has been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17. Tim and Lois McCormack are in charge that day and they will appreciate a few willing hands to assist them.
