People of Woodland . avenue have joined together with the aid of the association and are having the roads pea graveled. One block was done last Saturday. The roads were ditched properly, corners were fixed and culverts were furnished by the association. A vote of thanks goes to Ray Novotny, Steve Vrbik and Mr. and Mrs. John Haddock for their wholehearted support and aid in bringing this project about. Some of the residents of Woodland have contributed to help start the work on Bunny avenue. The work, being done on Highland avenue and Lake Shore will be completed as sdon as possible. Halloween Party Yes, you are all invited to join in the fun at the Halloween party that will be held at the barn on Oct. 29 starting at 9 p.m. There will be prizes, games and lots of good food. The adult activities committee spent last Saturday evening scouting up some entertainment and will have a well known vocal group there for your pleasure. We hope to see many of you there: that I really goofed up the Girl Scout news riot too long ago. The Girl Scouts meet at the barn every Friday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Mary Seldon is their leader and Harriett Wilson and Marilyn VanZevern are coleaders. I'm sorry it happened and appreciate having it called*f§ept. 28, Laura Fergon on to my attention. Rally Day Attendance pins were awarded on Rally Day to members of the Mount Hope church school^ Receiving three months pins were Missy and Donna Dobecki. Dennis Sisk, • Grace and John Jones and Donna Krisman. Receiving six months pins were Linda Dobecki. Steve Sorenson. and Ken Thoren. Receiving nine month pins were Ralph Sorenson and Janet Thoren. They were awarded by Mrs. Vi Johnson and Pastor Bob Stine. The kindergarten class is now meeting at 11 a.m. in the Johnsons' basement and the nursery is in the Gitlin home. Sally Von Bruenchenheim and Val Gitlin are in charge of the nursery. This is for infants up to three years of age. Cab Scouts Cub Scout registration will be held on Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. at the barn. All parents with boys between 8 and IOV2 years must be present to register or re-register their boys for the coming year. This is for adults only and refreshments will be served. Scout Master is Mr. Zenner and he is hoping for a bigger turnout than last time. M.Y.F. The Mount Hope M.Y.F. group will present the film, 'The Robe' on Oct. 8 at the barn. The matineef will begin at 2 p.m. and another showing at 8 that evening. Tickets are available through members of the M.Y.F. Try not to miss it, it is a wonderful movie. Sick List I am sorry to report that Dot Hayner still isn't feeling too well. She has been ill about a month and two of the weeks were spent in the hospital. Let's all send her our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Kathy Mason was a sick little girl for about four days. Evelyn Falk spent last week in St. Therese hospital in Waukegan. I am sorry to say that Shelia Silha is back at Wesley Memorial hospital in Chicago, To you all I send my best wishes for a quick recovery. Welcome To Pat and Phillip Krum- W»ede who have moved into their home at 201 E'. Oak street. They have been here for about three weeks. Hayner who was 10 years old on Oct. 4. Ron Jackson celebrated his birthday on Oct. 7. Douglas Mayer celebrated his fourth birthday on Oct. 1. He had a,, party with some of his friends. Mrs. George VanZevern celebrated his .birthday on Oct. 1, Anna Cohrs on Oct| 3 and Teresa Hull on Oct. 6. Johnny Mclnerney had a party with friends in honor of his third birthday on Sept. 29. Triple Celebration Audrey Morin and children spent a few days last week visiting with her folks and Don's folks in Chicago. On Saturday, Oct. 1, Audrey celebrated her birthday and she anc* Don celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary the same day. On Oct. 2, they had their infant son christened. Godparents for Larry Donald were Russell Anderson and Mary Sweiding. A buffet dinner was held in the home of - Don's parents. All in all it was a busy weekend for the Morin family. Anniversaries Ann and Jim Mclnerney will celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary on Oct. 12. New Members St. John's Blessed Virgin sodality will accept new members on Oct. 11. Mr. and Mrs. Ulich from La- Salle were guests of Bill and Marge Moreth last week. They spent four days visiting here. Pat Jackson spent last Wednesday evening in Chicago at a get-together with some of her former school chums. Mrs. Agnes Wroblewski had her- family visiting her last weekend. Wally Misavice and family and Audrey's mother, Mrs. Osweiler, attended a night baseball game in Milwaukee last Friday. Ruth Lemmons has accepted a position in Highland Park and is no longer, 'just a housewife'. 1 " Marcia Dowd and children spent last weekend visiting her parents in Chicago. On Oct. 1, Kay and Jack Reilly and family attended the wedding of Kay's cousin, Elaine Lamprous, in Chicago. Emily Thode was hostess to friends and neighbors last Friday evening. Last Tuesday Pat Jackson was pleased to have her mother, cousin and, aunt spend the day with her and the children. This Saturday evening Bob and Lorraine Hurckes will attend the home coming of the paign. This is the fiftieth annual homecoming. Thiey wili go with friends from Chicago. Last Saturday evening, yours truly and family visited with Dick's brother, Bob and his family in Waukegan. Candidates Luncheon. The general public is invited to a luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the community center. Several of the local and state candidates will be the guests of honor. RECOVERS FROM BURNS Joseph Aldenbrook of Johnsburg is recuperating from burns suffered last week, when he was cleahing paint brushes and the fluid ignited. He was taken to McHenry hospital for treatment of severe burns on the right leg, between the knee and ankle. At this meeting the election of officers was. held. Those to serve In office are Patty Zabroski, president;, Diane Dember, scribe; Maryanne Brzezinski and Kathy Gray are both treasurer. Meetings are held Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m at the firehouse in Lakemoor. This troop is looking for a leader. Any woman 18 years of age or older who is interested can contact Mrs. Pat Morrison at EV. 5-6396. If this troop does not have a leader by the first of January it will be disbanned. These young girls are getting a start in scouting, let's not see them break up for want of a leader. Birthday Greetings go to Master Terry Morrison.
