Paper Drive--Success and Failure It's all in one's point of view! As far as the co-operation of our villagers (and many outsiders) is concerned, the entire project was a huge success. More than 10,000 pounds of newsprint wen,t on the trucks which delivered same to Waukegan. I Failure enters the picture in the amount of money collected. The total was only $20.32 due to the low going rate for newsprint-- a mere 20 cents per hundred pounds! This amount will be turned over to the Cullom-Knoll building, fund after the next meeting of the Ladies of the Lake -- who sponsored the drive. Verbal orchids to the crew headed by Mrs. Jim Carroll who worked all day Saturday on the project. The calls received from many McHenry folks and surrounding territories were amazing! They had been saving newsprint bundles for us. A deep curtsy to all these nice people. -take Miss Ann Marie Groh of Johnsburg for his "lawful wadded wife".
